We were told that we would be mailed a copy of it but that didn’t turn out to be the case.  We had to send a self-addressed, stamped envelope, order form, and money to the marriage license office for each copy that we wanted.  I’d call the marriage license and ask and they’ll be able to tell you their procedure, cost, etc.

As far as what branch it got filed at, I’d either call both and see where it is or I’d ask your priest which he sent it to.

They mailed it to us and we had it within a week and a half. We didn’t have to turn in a form or anything–it was provided a free copy as a military courtesy, but all we would’ve had to do is check a box and pay for it. I think you could also just pick it up. But we definitely had our marriage license by the time we got back from our honeymoon

It was likely filed in the city you got married in, since that’s probably where the priest took it, but i’d check!

I mailed mine on a Tuesday and got it back the following Friday.

Our clerks office had a form online that you could fill out and send to order an extra copy. But I also found a website online that you can submit a request for an additional form electronically. It’s http://www.vitalchek.com/ – you pay extra to use it but you don’t have to mail the form.
