PLEASE HELP ME BY VOTING ON A DRESS (I know, I know, I am a crazy person)
So I have posted before about my struggles in even finding a place to try on dresses in my size (I’m a 18/20 in street clothes). Its not something that I needed to freak out over so bad, but I am OCD about clothing anyway, and even more so about picking the right dress.
I visited Knoxville, Charlotte, Atlanta, Asheville, and Greeneville, SC and dozens of bridal stores looking for a dress for my beach wedding in Mexico this December. What I found was that stores pretty much don’t carry much past a size 12 and that what they do carry in bigger sizes, are pretty much all the same, big, poofy, satin, heavy dresses. I was looking for something a little sleeker and flowing and to my surprise, I had a hard time finding that.
On top of all this, I am a severe bargin shopper!! Even though I have the money to buy the dress of my dreams, I just couldn’t see spending in upwards of $2K on a dress, I will wear once, to a small wedding on the beach.
So I did what I do well, figured out what size I wore, too measurements, and searched the web for stores that sold online, ebay, pre-owned wedding dresses.com, etc. I want everyone to know too that I did not have an awful experience at David’s Bridal in Atlanta (though I did at the one in Asheville and Knoxville) but found that all the dresses in my size weren’t flattering and not what I was looking for – not to mention that you get your heart set on trying on a dress you find online only to go to the store and find that they don’t carry that dress in that store. Also I want everyone to know that I actually had a wonderful experience at the Alfred Angelo store in Knoxville! Great dresses, lots of sizes, good prices.
So with all that being said, I have a few dresses that I like and cannot make up my mind on which one to wear and which to sell on ebay (before my fiance sees like 8 dresses hidden in the closet).
SOOOO if you will please help me by voting on your favorite. Also I have included what size the dress is to maybe help another plus size bride get some perspective.
Also the dresses that get voted off the island will be for sale so contact me if you have any questions or if you’re interested!! ([email protected])
