@weatherbug:  I like Ocean City!

Here is the bus/tram schedule:  http://oceancitymd.gov/Public_Works/transportation.html

Any street that backs up to the boardwalk is a pretty popular area.  I prefer to stay down on 12th street which is a litle further down from the busiest part of the Boardwalk. The closer to 1st street you get the closer to the main part of the boardwalk you get.

Oh yeah, and I always see a fair number of cabs!

Oh, and you’d want to look at the Beach Bus if you’re traveling off the boardwalk. The hours are 6am – 2am and it runs about every 20mins.  It’s pretty cheap at $3 for an all day pass.

@weatherbug:  My understanding is that the bus runs up and down most of coastal highway. I’ve taken it from 123rd street to the Boardwalk.  My only note on the bus is that if you are drinking/pregaming, you might want to consider a cab – the bus stops a lot. I went out with friends once and we pregamed – by the time we got from 120th street to 40th, we were basically sober and all had to pee. Not the most classy comment, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

That being said – the bus is really inexpensive. I’ve seen a lot of cabs around (so I’m sure they’re pretty available), but I’m not sure how much they cost. I think bus trip length and cab availability probably vary with the season – I’ve only been down there in the June-August range.

We did Ocean City for a friend’s bachelorette about two years ago.  Of course we went to Seacrets (sigh) but she loves that darn place so of course we had to go.  We had designated drivers, though, and didn’t bother with other transportation.

If you particularly love clubs and somewhat rowdy people then Seacrets would be a great place to go – it’s very much the typical bachelorette party spot!

Otherwise, I’d say do some of the bars on the boardwalk – the original Greene Turtle is great!

Ocean City isn’t that big. The bus that runs up and down coastal highway will drop you off within 3-4 blocks of anywhere you want to go.
