@Lee Ann: we have our venue exclusively so we’re setting one room up with a roulette table, air hockey table and black jack table. we’re giving all guests £50 each in mr & mrs money (coloured notes like monopoly money but with our faces on). they just win prizes but its all for fun, we’re thinking about making the prizes donations to charity.

we got the tables from one company and are still sourcing our air hockey table, but the company provide the attendants too Laughing

glad you like the idea, all my mother’s done is moan how unweddingy a casino is! lol

That is an awesome idea!!! I love that! My wedding plans are on hold until we move and get settled again. I’m thinking of making my STD cards and maybe start planning everything out. Putting together centerpiece ideas, color combos, things like that. Little things to keep me busy. I’m not that crafty but I like to pretend I am. 🙂

I am working on purchasing brooches and handkerchiefs.  I already have the inn booked.  I am currently searching for a photographer that doesn’t cost me my entire budget.  Other than that, not too much.  Wishing time will go by fast.  😛 550 days for me!

You could always work on invitations yourself.  I designed ours and we are having them printed at a local college.  The pocketfold style invites I made will save us over a 1000.  Which is a toonnnn of money.  Plus, it gives me a project to work on right now that doesn’t take up any space but takes a bit of time each day.  I am also working on ideas for the bridal party gifts – so things I see now, I am going to start to pick up.

We are booking a photographer this week and I am going to start putting together a list of shots we wants as must-haves.  Other than that, all my projects are “projects” that require a bit of space.

Good luck w the bouquet!!!

Well we’ve put down deposits on our (destination) ceremony & reception venues… and also chosen our menu for the reception.  We decided on colors and the main flower for the ceremony decor.  We’re still touring venues for our at home reception and will hopefully pick one by the end of next month.  I want to DIY my Save-The-Date Cards and invites for the wedding, but I haven’t found (or come up with) a design that I like for the invites yet.

I mailed “Will you be my Bridesmaid?” cards to my BMs a few weeks ago… and have started compiling info about the expenses of travel for my BMs also.  I’ll be mailing that out in a couple of months, probably.  I’ve tenatively chosen the color, material, and designer that I want to use for Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses… decision is pending because I haven’t seen the dresses in person or on my ladies yet.

I did some research and finally chose a photog for our engagement photos.  I just booked our engagement photo session the other day– Yay!  It will be in June.

I hope to start looking for my own dress in mid to late May.  :o)

Next on the list is to start exercising and eating right, so that I can lose this 15 pounds that’s been hanging around for a few months now before our pics!!!

I am working on my something blue. I am blinging up my dancing shoes with Swarovski blue stones. I have almost completed one shoe, one I finished that one, I’ll start on the other one. We have booked all our BIG checks, so now we’re just looking at the little details.

@Lee_Ann: I don’t know what you are planning DIYing, but I am doing everything.  I live in a tiny apartment too, but five hours away from my parents, so we have no where to put anything!  But, I have my table numbers, programs, an I spy game, my save the dates and a few other paper things saved on my computer.  They are all mostly done, but I can make quick changes closer to the date!  This way, nothing is taking up space yet.  Once I need to move on to the decorations and such, I’m going to do things that won’t get ruined while sitting in a box!

well at this point in time (not *officially* engaged yet…Fiance is saving for the ring, but i believe it’s the promise, not the ring, that makes the engagement), i’m just trying to get Fiance to talk about guest lists so i can get an idea of what exactly will be needed.  we’re trying to keep it low-key/small budget anyway, but i don’t think he realizes quite how much goes into even a small wedding.  it’s my second time around but his first, so i’m giving him the reins for the most part and backing off a bit because we do still have so much time, more than 16 months, but at the same time i don’t want him to get too comfortable with, “relax, we have time!”  lol.  i’ve been contenting myself with browsing gowns online and gathering ideas for my hair stuff.  i want to do a birdcage veil and some kind of feather fascinator.  i’ll probably wind up making both.
