Hey bees, wanted to ask your opinion on my wedding date choice. I really want to have a fall wedding and because of other family events, the only weekends that I can consider are October 26th and November 2nd of 2013. Originally I was fine with either of those dates, but when I mentioned that to some friends, everyones knee jerk reaction was “oh you’re having a Halloween wedding?” I really want my wedding to have a fall theme/feel, but I don’t want it to be halloween per se. So I’m just curious, when you hear those dates do you immediately think Halloween? Also, would a wedding on either of those dates get in the way of your Halloween plans?

Don’t worry about it. I’m getting married November 3, so not only is it close to halloween, but my BIRTHDAY is halloween! You don’t have to have a Halloween wedding just because your date is near there. Go for it.

I’m doing Oct 26 and I didn’t even THINK of halloween though my friend did mention it. I guess because my sister’s bday is on the 28th so that’s the first thing I thought of. Seriously, who cares!!

My date is Oct. 26, and honestly I figured that since Halloween isn’t until the following Thursday, we are pretty safe from feeling like we needed to include the holiday in our wedding unless we want to :).

Mines October 26th as well and no mention of Halloween from anyone we know! I love the date!

I was in the same boat! Our venue was booked on either side of these two dates for weeks. I had some reservations at first, because of the whole “Halloween” thing, but I’ve always seen myself getting married in autumn. Halloween happens to be my favorite holiday, but we’re gonna skip the Halloween decor and just have a photo booth with spooky props. And about Halloween plans–in our area, trick-or-treating usually happens ON Halloween, and since we’re having an outdoor ceremony, we’ll be having it early enough others can still make it to other parties.

Mine is Oct 26th as well, and no one ever mentioned to me that it was close to Halloween, actually, I didn’t think about it until today, Halloween! Go for it, October is such a beautiful, special month if you ask me.. (FI’s bday is a week before our wedding!) Congratulations!

I didn’t think of Halloween until my mom mentioned it.
The dads/men we are inviting are mostly just excited because it’s the one day between deer and moose hunting. hah
