Hi, ladies! I’m planning our wedding on October 30, and fell in love with the Candy Apple red color at David’s Bridal for the bridesmaid’s dresses. I’m having a tough time coming up with an accent color, though. I was digging through my closet yesterday, and realized that my dark red shoes look really good with a dark teal blouse I have (more blue than green). The color I have in mind is very close to David’s Juniper color, but they don’t really have any accessories in that color.
What do you think? If I go with the dark teal, where would I add the color on the attendants/accessories? I’m also not worried about anything clashing with the church – it is neutral, neutral, neutral…it’s begging for bold colors.

Whatever you and your fiance want. Mother Nature isn’t dictated by man-made “rules” on what is acceptable each season and what isn’t. Go to a local hardware store and browse the paint chips. Take home colors you like and mix and match them in the natural light to find a combo you love.

Thanks! Actually, after I posted this question I perused Etsy and I think I have combination that will work. If they wear the red dresses, and just put the organza flower either on the dress somewhere or above their ear, that may be the only teal accessory they need, don’t you think? I also think I’ll wrap the stems of the bouquets in teal ribbon and do a row of pearl pins on top of that.
It’s nice to have a forum of ladies to bounce these ideas off of…thanks!

I am doing Red and Aqua, however Red and Teal would have been the color scheme if we stuck or our original wedding date at the beginning of October. We moved our date to the end of August and were on the brink of summer/fall. So we chose the brighter route with red and aqua! I looove red and teal together!

That inspiration board is really pretty! I think any jewel tone would look great for fall.

I love the color you found to use with your candy apple! Don’t you just love etsy?

I’m doing red and gold for my July wedding. I know it doesn’t totally fit the “season” but I love the two colors together. The red and teal do look really nice together though. I say just go with whatever color combination you like and don’t worry about if it fits the season or whatever of your wedding.

I’m getting married October 2 and my colors are red and chocolate brown – trying to stay with a bit of a fall color scheme. That said, I love your red and teal idea! That will be beautiful!

Thanks, for the “hive” welcome everyone! Your colors all sound lovely, too. I can’t wait to see how it all falls together 🙂
