I’ve been loving the site and all the diy posts and can’t believe that I just found this section! Geez, I’ve been missing out!!
Anyone getting married on 10.8.11 with a peacock theme?
We sent out our invitations 2 weeks ago since it’s a holiday weekend, both columbus day & yom kipper, and our location is about an hour from where most of our guests live.
We’re having the ceremony & reception in an Art Gallery Estate with the hotel just next door. I’m hoping that makes it as easy as possible since we’ve chosen something very different from what most of our friends/family do in this area..
I did the invitations myself, with the help of my star bridesmaid..lol. She sat tirelessly double stick taping the mats to the invitations.
What are are you ladies doing for bridal gifts?
I have 8 girls and am thinking about an individual gift for everyone, but am not sure that’s the best since some gifts will be pretty differnt in cost, but not thought…!

Hello Date Twin! 🙂
I am not having a peacock themed wedding but I wanted to respond just because I’m getting married on the same day.
My friend is having a peacock themed wedding on August 20th. Your wedding sounds like it is going to be amazing!
For my bridesmaids, I got them all the same thing with the exception of my Maid/Matron of Honor. I got them their jewelry for the wedding, a customized tote bag, customized compacts and make-up bags that I found on etsy, flip-flops for the reception, and some soaps and coffee and things like that. I have 9 girls so I absolutely understand that it gets costly! I think that it is nice to do something invidualized but it is a lot of work too. Could you add little personalized touches to each person’s gift?

Yay Date Twin!
What is the theme/color of your wedding? I looveee the Fall =)
I love what you’re giving your bridesmaids!
What I have & some of my thoughts so far for the girls:
Have- matching earrings $4, pashminas $3 (love nyc lol), (we are also giving them to all of the lady guests at the wedding), bag $5..
Was thinking of a Vera Bradley small makeup case or jewelry case which are about $10ish each when on sale..to put the earrings in since I also got them in nyc in the bead district..
So in theory I will have spent about $22…with the feeling that I have not yet gotten something FOR them, lol everything is to be used at the wedding so far!

I’m also getting married on the the 8th. I don’t have a peacock theme, but my colors were inspired by the peacock colors.
Our wedidng party includes 8 ladies, 7 bridesmaids and 1 groomswoman. I’ve gotten them: A chico reusable bag $5 (that’s what their gift is in), slippers $20, jewelry (necklace, earrings, and bracelet) for the day of $28, small personalized mirrors $5, lotion from Victoria Secret $7.50, lip gloss $1.00 and their hair the day of. Nothing super expensive, but I had a hard time trying to figure out what to get them and ended up with a bag full of stuff. Hopefully they like it but I’m thinking I might add a robe or something.

@love1002: Colors are like a cobalt blue and apple green. The theme is actually The Beatles. We are having a lot of green apples as Apple was their record label.
I think the stuff you’re getting your girls is great!
