Aside from picking a wedding dress selecting the bridesmaid color was almost as stressful! Ahh! I freaked out!
Anyways – I went with a Royal Blue silk shantung fabric that I am super excited about! But now…what do I do with it?
I have thought of having the BMs carry pretty red roses/flowers and play off the richness of the fabric. I have also thought about doing all whites and greens (very simple elegant) in the reception.
We have the church, the cocktail venue and the reception hall to decorate. I like the idea of the image transforming from ceremony/cocktail to reception (as it will be evening then) so maybe go with the richness in the daytime and then lighten it up with whites/greens/candlelight at night for the reception…
Thoughts? Flowers stress me out too! Ahh!!

If you want your ceremony to have a different feel than your reception, I think for the day time I would go light and playful: whites, greens, yellows maybe, and for night time I would go richer more saturated colors: black, purple or silver…I think using lighter colors at night would take away from the night time feel of the reception.

I am getting married October 1 also.
I’m putting the girls in navy, and the flowers are going to be shades of orange and yellow. I guess if we had an accent color it would be silver – charger plates, frames, etc.
We’ll be using the same colors at the ceremony and reception since it all takes place in the evening/night.

I like the idea of the royal blue and red flowers! Both colors seem very rich, and I think it will be fun!! I’m an October 1 bride as well, and I went with David’s Bridal sangria dresses for my girls and they will be carrying orange flowers. Maybe I just like fun, punchy colors. 🙂

Hey hey! Newbie here, and I would just like to say you all chose your date excellently 🙂 I bet it will be the prettiest day of the year!
I like all of your thoughts of having the flowers bring out the colors of the dress. The rich blue and red sound amazing together 🙂
My bridesmaids are going to be in dark green, and the groom and men will be in dark chocolate brown. I’ve been thinking of using wildflowers (lots of different colors, blues purples, red/orange) for our bouquets.
Are you all ordering or creating your invitations?

the whites and greens sound great with that blue!
