Today was the first day i woke up at 5am (i’m on break right now) usually i wake up at 6am.  Every night I fall asleep exhausted. Anyone else have to clean their house before the out of towners come? I do.  That’s what I’m doing today..and calling the cake person, printing programs, meeting with the hotel coordinator and fthe final touch on the  favors! Then I’m done! Out of Town are coming in today and FI’s bday party (cards/winetasting) is tomorrow at the house.  Let’s get this party started already.

Hey, hey? Anyone out there?? How did everything go? Recap, pls. The main things went perfectly and all the little things went wrong. Everyone pitched in to save the day which made it so special. I can elaborate more but I want to make sure you all are ok!?  🙂

Recap!

<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>Best comments afterward: It was perfect! The best wedding I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to millions.
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>Mediocre comment: It was the best non-alcoholic wedding I’ve been to in ’09.
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>Worst comment: Some people were offended by you saying Jarrod is a leader in the relationship.
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>

So we had mishaps with

<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>cake dropped and looked very ‘interesting’ leaning on one side
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>FI mom showed up late for the pics
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>didn’t give the leis to moms until later in reception
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>the corset straps were unexpectedly completely out of gown and were not easily or quickly put back in
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>bathroom basket emptied out by sticky fingered guests an hour into reception
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>some fonts on wedding video off
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>family pics were a little chaotic
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>centerpieces were clumped rather than a spray
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>pedastal flowers looked slightly like funeral flowers

NEAR mishaps but completely fixed in the nick of  time:

<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>no flower girl flowers in the basket
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>wrong lei color
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>dress not steamed and ready as promised

forgot to put my train down until the last second before the ceremony

<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>3 unexpected guests showed up
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>witnesses were nowhere to be found after the ceremony
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>flower girl (groom’s niece) showed up late and not dressed
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>missing av cables/wrong ones
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>forgot the bubbles (but used them for a more important purpose later)
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>

Perfect things

<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>the wedding message by pastor-personal, educational, moving
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>the groom-emotional, tearing throughout the whole ceremony, sweet, relaxed
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>my dad’s face as he gave me away
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>the flow of the program
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>the 5 video segments, interactive internet texting game, slideshow, 5 different sound systems of various live musicians
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>the staff
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>the ring bearer (my nephew) as he winked going down the hall
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>my friends and family who greeted us
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>the photographers/videographer
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>all of the music
<p style=”padding-left: 30px;”>the toasts (i finally cried)

In all, the main things went perfectly and kept the focus where it needed to be. The cosmetics…well, that was left to be desired but overall, I’m so happy with what went on during that day and the days that have followed since then.

Thank you, Bees for being a huge part of the incredible wedding journey!
