10.12.2012 for us, too. Smile

Colors: chocolate and navy, white, off-white, and a splash of bright green in the flowers.

Checked off the list:

  • Venue (wedding + reception, catering)
  • Officiant
  • Photographer
  • Motels + Shuttle
  • Dress – strapless Reem Acra gown
  • 100’s of milk glass vases and urns
  • Wedding website
  • Save the Dates (mailing this coming week)

Ready to make final decision on:

  • Music (wedding + reception) We have been debating whether or not to have the DJ also handle the ceremony music (it’s very economical to add onto the reception ~ $250) or hiring a four piece ensemble w/violins, cello, acoustic guitar, piano, flute instruments options, plus vocal soloist for $650. I think we’re going the DJ route due to cost.

  • The same company for the DJ will also handle the uplighting ($225).

The venue includes the white linens and head table/cake/gift table skirting, so I think we’ll do navy uplighting. My Maid/Matron of Honor wants chocolate dresses rather than navy, so I thought that the uplighting might be one way of bringing in the navy color. I’m contemplating using navy runners on the tables, too.

Theme: “It’s About Time.” (By the time we get married we’ll have been together nearly 14 years.)

Next on our agenda: rehearsal dinner venue.

I can’t wait to hear what others are doing. Smile

Hello fellow 10-12-12 ladies! I am getting married at Southern Oaks Plantation in New Orleans. My colors are royal purple, gold, and ivory. I have almost everything finished, minus some small details. I love a Friday night wedding!

10-12-12 brides unite!  =)  We are getting married in Ventura–outdoors, but our CA Octobers are incredible.  We have the venue (Serra Cross Park, it’s gorgeous!), reception venue (future sister-in-law’s home), officiant, photographer, and bridal party all set.  We’ll be going casual, the less stress the better!  So far finding a tailor for Grammie’s wedding gown has been the most frustrating.  We’re honeymooning in Canyon de Chelly and Canyonlands Nat’l Parks!!  So excited!

Woot!!! So glad to see so many other brides celebrating on a Friday!!!

We are having a rustic-formal themed wedding – think burgandy, burnt oranges, chocolate brown and splashes of blue. Ceremony and reception will be at a vineyard.

We’ve got everything arranged except for the following:

Wedding bands – we just need to decide on FI’s ring: All 14K plated white gold or platinum and 14K WG. Will probably put the order in for both bands later this month.

Dress alterations – meeting with the seamstress next week to schedule a time to bring her the dress.

Bridesmaid or Best Man Dresses: I keep going back and forth on either chocolate colored dresses or blue dresses. My girls will be able to pick out whatever they want when I finally figure out a color – I don’t want them to match style-wise.

Groomsmen Attire: Fiance and Bestman are dragging their feet on this. Hope to at least visit JABs or MensWarehouse by the end of this month.

Flower girl dresses – I have absolutely no idea.  :-/

Invitations: That’s my April-May project.

Music/song list for the ceremony and reception – just the important ones.

Buy coolers for bevvies (probably storage bins – cheap and reusable) – AND BUY BEER – LOTS OF BEER, bottled water, and sodas.

Random details for decorations for ceremony and reception – I have ideas and have most of the stuff, but just need to finalize everything:

           –  floral wreath for my pup to wear (ring bearer)

           –  flower baskets

           –  table numbers & centerpieces

           –  escort cards

           –  chair sashes – my March project

           –  signage

I’m sure other things will pop up, but that’s pretty much all I have left on my timeline/to do list.

Congrats to all fellow October 12th bees! Fiance and I have been together since our freshman year (2005) of high school, and got engaged on February 20, 2009. We tried several times to plan our wedding, but due to family financial woes, we had to postpone plans until this year. We chose our date, mainly because it is during our favorite season, fall, but also because the date falls exactly one week in-between our birthdays. Fiance will be 23 on October 5th, our wedding is on the 12th, and I will be 23 on the 19th. I was born and raised in NJ, where my fiance and I met and went to high school; however, we moved to Indiana to attend college in 2008 after graduating high school, so our wedding will be in IN.

Here are some of the details of our big day…

Theme(s): We’re combining the following themes; Romantic, Rustic, Vintage, and Fall.

Colors: Cream, Blush, and Charcoal with Cranberry and Blackberry accents

Guests: Approximately 50

Venue: Kelley Agricultural Museum  http://lovethevenue.com/2011/08/09/kelley-agricultural-museum-indianapolis-indiana/

Invitations: Custom made (with different illustration and font colors) by Artful Beginnings via Etsy  http://www.etsy.com/listing/99865261/wedding-invitation-handkerchiefs-with?show_panel=true

THE Dress: Custom made by a local designer  – My dress will look a lot like this dress  http://lissomyarn.blogspot.com/2011/03/how-to-design-your-wedding-dress.html ; however, the underlayer will be made of blush silk charmeuse, the overlayer of ivory silk georgette, and the sash will be made of a crocheted ivory lace. I can’t wait to wear it!

Maid/Matron of Honor Dress: Charcoal chiffon dress

Groom/BestMan Attire: Grey suits

Decor Essentials: Ivory Draping, White Lights, Ivory Ceramic Pitchers (for floral arrangements), Mason Jars, White Vases, White Pumpkins, Lace Embroidery Hoops…

Ceremony: We will be married outside, in front of the barn doors, which will be open with a draped entryway, the barn doors will be adorned by baby’s breath wreaths (one on each door). The seating will be hay bales with fabric draped over them, and the aisle will be lined with white pumpkins of various sizes. We’re still debating the start-time (either 5 or 6PM).

Reception: (Inside Barn) – We have ordered vintage-inspired farm tables and mismatched chairs for the reception, and will be using various items from the decor essentials list for table decor.

Food/Beverage: BBQ! We are still debating appetizers, but for our dinner we will be having pulled pork sandwiches, grilled chicken, roasted red bliss potatoes, baked mac and cheese, and seasoned green beans. Beverages will be water, glass-bottled soda and beer, apple cider, sweetened and unsweetened iced tea, and coffee.

Cake/Desserts:  http://pinterest.com/pin/94083079685357928/ (Cake inspiration) – We are having a two-tier wedding cake, an assortment of cupcakes, mini apple and pumpkin pies, apple cider donuts, and s’mores (for the bonfire later in the evening).

Favors: Mason jars, which will double as beverage glasses. We’re debating doing a second favor though.

Photography: Photos will $500 (taken by a former co-worker, who owns her own photography business)!

Music: A friend is DJ-ing for the reception, and possibly the ceremony.

Officiant: My grandfather

Florals: LOTS of baby’s breath, seeded eucalyptus, (fall) foliage… Still deciding on other flowers. They will be in cream and blush hues, possibly accented by berries.

I apologize for the links! I could not get the photos I wanted to post to show up.
