Hey! I’m sending mine out at the 6 month mark because I am having a destination wedding, and I want everyone to be able to make travel plans. That will be approx two weeks from now 🙂

Also, I designed mine myself and had them printed around October of last year. I used Illustrator and Vistaprint, and boy am I glad I did..

I sent mine out about 2 weeks ago, but we are kind of having a destination wedding. Its in the town we live in, but literally every guest will be traveling from other states. Its not typical at all, even with DW, to send them out this early, but honestly I would want that amount of time if someone was inviting me to a wedding that I needed to purchase airfare & take off of work for.

OH wow. Everyone is so organized. I’ve barely even thought of my invites…let alone send them out.

We are planning on sending them out in early September. Maybe late August.

Edited to answer all the questions: We already have our invitations and they’re they ones you can print at home (from Michael’s got a steal on some pocket folds).

We’re sending out the Save the Dates this week since about half the guest are from out of town. And then we’re sending out the invites late July/early August.

@LilyPea:  +1 this is exactly what we’re doing, I just have to order my Save-The-Date Cards real quick. Our wedding is out of town as well.

I haven’t sent mine out yet (not made yet either), nor have I decided when I’m sending them out. I’m thinking beginning of august?

Ours is a destination wedding also. Save the Dates went out in late January.

Invites are already designed, just waiting to print them. They will be sent out after the 4th of July weekend.

Around first week of August (8 weeks out). RSVPS due Sept. 7. Wedding is Oct. 5. Any sooner than 8 weeks is not considered proper etiquette.

ETA: Save-The-Date Cards went out in February

We’re planning to send our invites out around the beginning of September.  Most of our guests are local.  We got our save the dates from vistaprint (which we sent out today, YAY!) and are going to use the matching invitations from them as well.

Sending them out in the beginning of August with an RSVP date of September 5. We’re using a free printable template I found online and just doing them ourselves. I already found the site we’re going to order our paper, pocket cards, and envelopes from. We’re just waiting a few more months before we actually order the supplies and make the invites.

We sent save the dates in February and I’m planning to send out invitations in late July or early August. The vast majority of our guests will be coming from out-of-town, so I’d like to give them ample notice to make travel plans. We are also planning to include many Out of Town guests in our rehearsal dinner (approx 60 people), so I’ll be sending invitations to that event shortly after the wedding invitations, so guests can plan accordingly.

I know most people send invitations 8 weeks in advance, but honestly, when you are traveling (flying, driving, taking off work, booking hotel rooms) to go to a wedding, I think that’s cutting it a little close.
