Can’t believe how fast these past few months have gone by. I am so excited for everyone. Just saw this on the July 2012 board (they stole it from the May 2012 board and I think the May board stole from another board, haha) and thought it could be fun 🙂
Wedding Date: October 20, 2012
Engagement Length: 12 months
Colors: black, white, silver and red
Theme: No specific theme, semi-formal (classic/modern)
Wedding Party (#s): 2 Maid/Matron of Honor, 2BMs, 2 Best Man and 2GMs
Ceremony (location and time): Hyatt Downtown ABQ 6:30pm
Cocktail Hour: Once ceremony is over they will be escorted outside the room for cocktail hour while they change the space for reception
Reception (location and time): Same as ceremony reception starts at 8pm
Dress Style: Reem Acra vintage A-line, white silk with matching buttons all the way down the back of the dress. Adding an off white crystal sash for ceremony and debating on changing to black crystal sash for reception. I also will change into a party white dress for the last hour of 2 of the reception to dance in.
Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): Friend who is a Pro will be styling my hair and another friend who is also a pro will be doing my make up. Both are flying in from out of town. (I am so thankful for them both)
Honeymoon Location: 6 days in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico, staying at Marival Resort & Suites (all inclusive and I can’t wait)
Flowers: white stargazer lilies and red and white roses
First Dance Song: We are coming out to Forever by Chris Brown then we are doing a party mix starting with Marry Me by Train, then have the record scratch then mix into Jump On It by Sugarhill Gang, then mix into Dollar Wine by Byron Lee (my family is West Indian so this is our little tribute to them) then Black Eyed Peas The Time then come back to Marry Me by Train.
Centerpieces: nonflowers- white feather centerpieces onto of a 7in vase with gel beads inside with a light to highlight it all.
Food/Menu: 4 course meal with chicken or salmon for main course.
Signature Drinks, Open Bar or Dry: We are having 3 signature drinks. A “His” drink which might be a Texas Long Island Ice Tea, a “Her” drink which may be a Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini and our signature beer is Miller because this is my Fiance last name.
Cake Flavor: we are doing a cup cake cake with 3 flavors (white, red velvet and coffee chocolate)
Guest Favor: Bride and groom cock screw and wine stopper set
DJ/Band/IPod: DJ for reception and harpist for the ceremony (may just extend the harpist for cocktail hour or just pop in a cd and call it a day during cocktail hour).
Bachelorette (when/what): October 19 (yup, the night before) we are not a big partier so I trust myself and my ladies to be up the next morning. We might get a limo and go to a local upscale club.
