- Wedding: October 2012
Hello Fellow October Wives
We did it, we are married now. What a journey. I do want to say thank you to this board for all your input, advice and just being there throughout my journey to say I Do.
I feel it would be nice to do our own October board recap with pics.
Wedding recap- So my wedding was amazing. Of course everything wasn’t perfect but it was perfect for me. I enjoyed myself and so did the guest. We had 52 guest in all. We started 20 minutes late because I left my petticoat at home and my next door neighbor had to run back to the house and get it, lol. The ceremony was beautiful. We did a ring warming and with such a small group I thought it would be a nice touch. We tired to get different kind of pictures but due to limited lighting they all didn’t come out the way I wanted but we got a bunch of other great shots. My husband’s and I did a surprise dance mix which started off with a slow song then fast and faster then back to slow. We got a standing ovation and we only put it together 5 minute the night before. Then the ladies and I did a surprise dance it had a few flows in it but it was fun and everyone enjoyed it. I was on cloud 9 the whole night. We caught a 7am flight the next day to our honeymoon to Mexico and it was perfect. In all, I was so pleased with everything yet glad its over.
What would you change if you can do it over again: I wouldn’t do as much detailed DIY because I fell it went unnoticed. Listen to my baker and used her cake stand (mines didn’t come out to good, lol). We forgot to do a toast and the champagne sat on the table untouched and my biggest change is to do a public thank you to our guest. We kind of forgot to do it and I felt bad.
Biggest accomplishment– We paid for our wedding all upfront and in cash. No wedding debit to follow us which is amazing.
Biggest shocker- we got so many gifts and cards for such a small group of guest. I was a little overwlemed because I wasn’t expecting this much.
New focus- Now that the wedding is over we are focusing on each other, enjoying life and traveling more. So the out come of out of town guest was so good we are now planning a group trip to DR next year. So far we have about 18 people trying to go, so I guess I’m kind of back to planning another event, lol.
I’m all ready
Our mom’s did the ring warming ceremony before the ceremony began.
Everyone’s first look and of course I started crying, lol.
You may kiss the bride… I am a Mrs. now.
Our group pic.
I really like this pic.
I wish we took more pics in this area.
The start of our first dance mix (slow)
And back to slow. I loved our first dance, it was so much fun.
I did a quick change later in the evening and the girls and I did a surprise dance.
Then everyone join us for the wobble.
No wedding is complete without the soul train line.
We had a black background and the photograher took a bunch of guest pics in front of it, they came out pretty nice.
Overall, everyone had a good time. I’m glad its all over, lol.
