I have the venue picked, the dress picked and paid for, colors chosen, food chosen but not tasted, I’m starting on centerpiece ideas, we’ve set the date, had our engagement pictures, I’ve sent out save the dates, and we know where our honeymoon will be.

II am panicking! I feel like I have nothing done, even though I just got engaged in feb. there’s still so much to do!

It will be easier for me to say what I don’t have done lol. I planned very early (started in July 2012) so I managed to book everything far in advance.

What I still need to do:

Dress alterations (won’t be until August)

Florist appointment (design centerpieces and anything flower related)

Food tasting (will be done around July/August)

Order tuxedos (he’s procrastinating; I need to kick his butt lol)

Order invitations (I have them picked out just need to purchase)

I believe that’s it πŸ™‚

I think we’ve hit the point in our planning where it’s easier to say what’s left to do rather than what we’ve done! So that’s exciting πŸ™‚

Still have to:

  • Pick the menu (we’ve had a tasting already, just have to decide what we’re having!)
  • Book a calligrapher
  • Book transportation
  • Buy FIs wedding band (maybe this weekend?)
  • Decide on floral arrangements
  • Book hair & makeup artists (I’m pretty sure I know who I want to use, just have to call and make it official)
  • Purchase my veil, shoes and accessories
  • Decide on first dance song & other music selections
  • Write our vows
  • Pick out tuxes
  • Work on programs
  • Assemble welcome bags

I guess there are more things that I haven’t listed but they’re minor things. This is the bulk of what there is left to do. I’m feeling good, like I’m right on pace. We shall see!

Completed:

  • venue – ceremony + reception (friend’s woods)

  • colors and many elements of decor/lighting

  • dress measurements with intended bra

  • groom’s jacket found

  • officiant booked

  • tables + chais reserved

  • some of the table linens bought (they are going to be all different within a color story)

  • photographer booked

  • videographer booked

  • completed guest list

  • set the date

  • something blue (it’s also old and borrowed!! does it count if it’s nearly all in one?)

Things we haven’t done:

  • dress chosen but not bought

  • booked guest rooms

  • booked night-of newlywed lodging

  • booked honeymoon

  • chosen bridesmaid + groomsmen attire (won’t necessarily be uniform)

  • asked parents of flower girls/ringbearer/other participating children

  • made the favors

  • made wedding slippers
  • chosen wedding bands

  • partially completed designing of invitations

  • sent save-the-dates

  • decided exactly what we want the ceremony to be like

  • written vows

  • settled 100% on the time of day

  • still debating food, probably DIY hors d’oeurves

  • bought the biodegradable tableware

  • music partially completed

Things we are leaving out:

  • rental transportation

  • veil

  • programs

  • paper save-the-dates (will be emailed)

  • DJ or band (just one fabulous playlist)

  • garter (and throwing of the bouquet)

  • tent (too expensive for our tiny budget… yeah pretty worried about that one!)

Almost done! It’s easier to list what we have left to do!

  • Book hair and makeup
  • Purchase linens
  • Order tuxes
  • Nail down rehearsal dinner plans
  • Print invitations
  • Decide on uplighting

I’m sure there are small things I’m forgetting, but I’ll figure them out! 5 more months ladies!

@FutureMrsPitch:  Ooh yay we’re doing email RSVP too!! It sounds like you’ve probably done this if you’ve been to Sam’s but did you try a regular grocery store like Publix? They def. have pretty cakes but… yeah still pretty expensive.

I too could not find an inexpensive cake option, so I bought tiny (5″) pie pans and we are going to start making crusts ahead and freezing them so that day-of we can plop a big spoonful of filling (made the day before, 2 or 3 types, not to be heated) into each one and make like a million little pies. Hopefully. Don’t know how to transport them yet. And for the record, I kind of wish I’d gotten itty bitty pie pans instead (like bite-sized, think tiny quiche).

Also, some cities have a flower market, flowers are sometimes sold at farmer’s markets, and I believe you can get flowers sometimes from a place like Sam’s? I wonder if a grocery store would order certain flowers for you and it would still be less expensive because you are doing the design?
