cherriesandcream: Welcome and congratulations!!!!
Lulah: Do you mind moving me to the 20th?
mco06: Will you have to pay out of pocket for the testing? Or will insurance still cover it? And Thanks. I was wallowing last night. I have to spend all day in bed today with a super overprotective husband who refuses to let me out, go downstairs, walk for any period of time longer than to the washroom and back. It’s cute because he keeps bringing me drinks and food. But I really want to head downstairs to the recliner and watch some tv. Tomorrow maybe. The doctor’s orders were no sitting for at least 24 hours, so he’s not completely wrong. He just tends to follow orders to the letter, whereas I don’t typically follow anything very well.
SoontobeMrs0831: Thanks! Today is better already.
Is anyone actually enjoying their pregnancy? I keep saying I feel a bit lied to. It’s been brutal. Now, I recognize a lot of it is because of the stupid broken foot and that has nothing to do with pregnancy. But I know all these moms who said it was just magical and they loved being pregnant. And that they’d do it again except that their families are complete, etc. And I just stare at them and think “were you high during the whole thing?” Or do people really just breeze through it? Maybe it gets better and you forget the first trimester?
Don’t get me wrong. I’m thrilled that we are having a baby. And I waited for this for so long. And I’m still totally terrified that something will go wrong. But I can’t say it’s been fun, or even pleasant, at all. And yes, I’m still on board to have a 2nd somewhere down the line… despite this experience so far.

Yeah.. I got super bored today… Still is going to take some work as I just did it on a little chromebook that doesnt give me too many options for editing, but as the teams come in it will be easier to follow and cool to see everyone. . And cuter 🙂 Plus did I mention I was bored? haha

sostobe: I just started to enjoy it. The first 10 weeks were miserable with nausea and fatigue. Once we had our NT scan, I felt more relaxed but I think the main thing was feeling better. I feel like myself again (well, I have some aches and pains). Around 8 weeks I just remember crying in bed wondering if it would ever get better.

And what about maternity clothes? Are you there yet? What do you love? Love old navy maternity stuff! Been in maternity clothes since about 10 weeks.
Tell us about your nursery. What are you planning? Have you started? LO will take my son’s room – it’s kinda a science theme – planets, periodic table, stuff like that.

Team Blue, Team Pink, Team Green? Do you know? Are you finding out? Yes we will be finding out at our next ultrasound around May 20.
Lets hear about your symptoms? Where are you at now? My morning sickness was mostly in the afternoon but it is fading now. Starting to feel more energized, but have lots of food cravings.
And what about maternity clothes? Are you there yet? What do you love? Still in my regular clothes but at the point of sneakily unbuttoning my jeans in public. Doing some maternity shopping this weekend, excited.
Tell us about your nursery? What are you planning? Have you started? Not even close. Moving into a bigger place next weekend and then hopefully will start collecting things but in no hurry. It is exciting to think about though! I love the grey and yellow scheme for boy or girl.
Feel free to include a picture of your bump however existent or nonexistent. No pics yet but loving all the bump pics here!

sostobe: This is my first pregnancy. Well I did have an MMC in December but this is the first pregnancy that we are hoping will make it to term. (Even though we are in 2nd tri I still worry!). I feel blessed that I am able to carry a child and pray it is healthy when it arrives. However although we are all blessed and lucky to be moms to be, I do think being pregnant is not fun at all. Ialso think its totally ok to say that. If I had MS I would probably feel even more strongly about this. For me, the fatigue is so bad. I dont have the energy to do much. I also get winded walking up and down stairs and even on long walks so I havent exercised much at all. I used to go kick boxing and some other stuff before and only 15 lbs overweight when I started this pregnancy (since I didnt lose the weight yet from the last one) I have been cooking slightly less healthy because I am too tired to chop all those veggies! LOL My husband cant even make toast so he is no help LOL I am SO fat I can’t stand it and I am just disheartened knowing how much hard work its going to be to lose all the weight and feel good about myself. I worry I will be so tired from taking care of the baby that my “future gym routines will suffer. And lately I have been reading a bunch of birth stories. I get really bored at work LOL .HOLY MOLY….what happens to our bodies during and after is horrific! Bleeding for 2 months after and having to wear depends!! I am sure we will all be talking about this stuff when we are in 3rd tri haha Every day being pregnant I think less and less of men LOL. They are so inferior its pathetic haha

sostobe: Re: enjoying pregnancy, the terrible truth is that although my symptoms are really mild and I actually feel really good most days, my mind won’t let me relax into pregnancy and just enjoy it. So although technically I should probably be feeing happy and grateful and healthy, I spend a lot of time wishing the days away until my next appointment when I can confirm there’s actually a bean in there. I actually catch myself feeling a little jealous of the folks with big early bumps and clear symptoms, even though I know they’re often miserable and it’s ridiculous of me to feel that way. Grass is always greener, I guess!

sostobe: I completely agree! I know my symptoms could be A LOT worse but I still don’t feel all that great. I just want to feel like myself again! And I am also so excited to be having a baby, I just hope I start feeling more like myself soon!
How far along are you now? What is your due date? I’m 14 wk 2 days, due date Oct 14th. Although I rarely tell people my due date, just ‘mid October’
Team Blue, Team Pink, Team Green? Do you know? Are you finding out? We’re team green and it’ll stay that way until delivery.
Let’s hear about your symptoms. Where are you at now? I can eat a lot more than before, but my stomach feels kind of uneasy a lot. And I feel pretty crappy at night, which has only started in the last couple weeks. Or maybe I always felt that way but now its only at night lol
And what about maternity clothes? Are you there yet? What do you love? I haven’t started with maternity clothes. I’m hoping to get a little but further into the warmer weather before I buy anything. I wear scrubs to work so I won’t be needing work maternity clothes for a while!
Tell us about your nursery. What are you planning? Have you started? Well, we know what room it’ll be but that’s about it! We have to move DH’s office into my office. I also know I just want a plain crib and my mom’s giving us a dresser that I’ll paint and use as a changing table as well.
Feel free to include a picture of your bump however existant or non-existant it may be! No pics, and it still just seems like bloat anyways!

sostobe: awww well that’s nice of your hubby to help you out, and yeah I agree take it easy for the moment to recover.
Lulah: thanks for making the calendar! it’s nice to see where everyone is and see how many boys/girls will be in the group! 🙂
brlabrat: I compeltely agree with you! I’ve had very mild symptoms and while I know I’mlucky and shouldn’t complaint, I kind of wish I had more than just exhaustion. That way I would know that I’m still pregnant even though I know I am. I guess it’s not good that there have been a lot of stories lately here and IRL of late miscarriages so I can’t help but worry if everything is fine with the little one. Since I hate the wait in between apps and not knowing how the little one is I did buy a Doppler to use at home so I can’t wait to receive it! (although I know it might be hard to find the heartbeat sometimes).

How far along are you now? What is your due date? 15 wks 5 days; Oct 4th! twinsies will be early though- probably around Sep 20th…
Team Blue, Team Pink, Team Green? Do you know? Are you finding out? We will be finding out at the 20 week scan – counting down the days!
Let’s hear about your symptoms. Where are you at now? Definitely feeling better but still not great- nausea at random times, digestive issues, fatigue, etc. had some fun trips plan but i’ve curtailed everything because i just don’t know when i will have energy… i am enjoying eating again though 🙂
And what about maternity clothes? Are you there yet? What do you love? yes! finally bought some old navy maternity pants and am so in love. a very kind friend also send me a huge box of her old stuff…
Tell us about your nursery. What are you planning? Have you started? waiting til 20 weeks to find out sexes but probably yellow walls and turquoise accents… nothing too trendy because my husband won’t be on board 🙁 would totally go gray if i could…

sostobe: i feel the same. not loving pregnancy and sort of relieved i may only have to do it once. but trying to focus on the positives since at this point it’s going by more quickly and i only have til 38 weeks! the main plus is eating. can’t wait to eat all the ice cream this summer.
Lulah: so cute! love the visual!

I made some nursery progress. It’s currently empty aside from a queen bed. I painted the bamboo mirror today (thrigt store find) and picked up the dresser from IKEA yesterday.

Well, I just had my NT scan.
I guess one of had to eventually have a big scare.
I have a 1 in 15 chance of Trisomy 18 based off of my blood test results from week 11. I see a specialist on Monday to set up more invasive testing. I didn’t expect this at all, I am 26 years old, low risk, and only was doing the scan because I wanted another ultrasound and insurance covered it. There is still a 14 in 15 chance everything is fine, but I am open to all testing possible to make certain of that.
2nd trimester starts tomorrow, we were going to announce publicly tonight but will be holding off. What a terrible day. I think my tears have run dry, for now.

Lulah: I’m sorry! I’m bracing myself for further testing. Our measurement came back higher (80th percentile) for the gestational age. And I’m 33. So I figure we’re going to get a higher than expected result and will have to do further testing.
