How far along are you now? What is your due date? I’m 14 weeks today, due date Oct 16th still.

Team Blue, Team Pink, Team Green? Do you know? Are you finding out? No team yet. Won’t find put until the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. But we do want to know.

Let’s hear about your symptoms. Where are you at now? Switching over to the second trimester has been really weird. I finally got to a place where I was managing all my symptoms well and felt like I knew my body. Then everything changed! I’m not sure what my body wants from me right now, but it seems to be getting better. I have less hunger pains and more energy. Little by little things seem better.

And what about maternity clothes? Are you there yet? What do you love? I bought maternity leggings! Full panel things are soooo comfy. For my normal clothes I just bought 2 pairs of pants in a size up from normal. I figure I’ll use them after the birth too. I’m sure I won’t get back down to size too fast. Once I outgrow these though, it’ll be time for maternity clothes all the time.

Tell us about your nursery. What are you planning? Have you started? Have not started one bit! :/

Feel free to include a picture of your bump however existant or non-existant it may be!

Lulah:  sostobe:  sorry about the scares ladies. Hope everything works out for you.

I’m over 16w and we haven’t had any of these tests done. I am getting a full anomaly scan at 21 weeks. But any checks like that aren’t standard in my country . It’s so scared not knowing if anything is wrong. all I’ve had it a quick 2 min US To date me and they checked the babies heartbeat with a Doppler last week. We booked a private scan ourselves for next tues so hopefully that doctor will do some more thorough checks.

sostobe:  Our screening included both the blood test and the ultrasound NT scan.  The NT ultrasound looked “perfect” as they said.  It is the blood test part that shows a hormone very very low that is putting us at the risk.  We are open to any testing we can get, cvs (though I’ve read conflicting info about if we still are in the time period for it or too late) and amnio.  I see my Women’s groups #1 specialist on Monday afternoon, they don’t even deliver at this hospital but love this doctor so much they send everyone there in cases like this.  I am really hoping I can expedit things and get testing done that day, though I know that probably isn’t possible.  They didn’t even have an opening on Monday but created a slot for me, so I feel really comfortable already that everyone is doing everything they can do to help us.           I cannot fathom having a late term miscarriage, still birth or death after birth so I need to have as much information possible about what is going on as we already know the decision we would make, just hope to God it doesn’t come to that.          I completely agree about staying neutral, I went into the scan and was absolutely caught off guard and completely and horrifically crushed at the result, so by staying neutral on both sides about what could happen is protecting ourselves.  There are times I have great hope and times I just break down, but its natural, ya know?  I do get comfort in knowing that there is a 14 in 15 chance everything is fine, but people freak out at 1 in 50, 1 in 100, 1 in 500 etc, so I also feel completely justified in being scared as hell at times.  I hope we both get all the information we can get  (as soon as possible!!)  and that our babies are as healthy as can be.         Keep me updated on you, we can get through this!

sostobe:  this is the room colour. It’s a small room and this really brightens it up! It’s a special light and reflect paint it literally looks like the sun is shining in there all day! got a new lampshade too!

These are all the bits I’ve gotten! The curtains are more a mustard. They are to the left of the picture. So it’s gonna be lemon/mustard/turquoise!

These are for the single bed in room. And I’ll use the knitted turquoise throw and cushions on it.

And I bought this chair second hand to use in he room too, different cushion! It’s currently in our living room!

Everyone else makes me feel bad for getting stuff done too early but I’m an organised person Plus this is the exciting bit! If the worse happens touch wood it doesn’t I still want to have enjoyed my pregnancy. It’s a good distraction there’s way too much to worry about!

Ladies, just a question… Has anyone eaten any of the “forbidden” pregnancy foods? Today I ate a grilled turkey sandwich which I thought would be fine but when I got it, it really was not hot all the way through. At the time, I really wasn’t too worried but Google has me paranoid. I accidentally ate Gorgonzola around 12 weeks and have been eating pasteurized feta. I don’t know why I am so paranoid about it! The risk is incredibly low especially since the recent listeria outbreaks were from things other than deli meat. I just won’t be doing it again.

mrsdrdunn:  My OB actually told me that deli meat was absolutely fine – no need to heat it up or anything. (I didn’t even ask her myself as I’m vegetarian – it was one of the first things in her new pregnancy speech, so I’m sure she must get asked a lot!) I’m sure you’re fine!

I’ve eaten deli meat quite a few times already without it being steaming hot. I’ve also eaten my fair share of soft cheeses in salads and on sandwiches. I never think about it until after I’ve already started to eat the cheese, of course. But the chance of having unpasteurized soft cheese when it’s not from a fancy cheese shop is pretty rare in the U.S. I’m not about to go chow down some high mercury fish, but I also won’t completely bubble myself.

Newbie1982:  Love the colors! We’re thinking turquoise or teal with orange for a boy or pink for a girl. I even have a dusty teal sort of color in mind for the walls but nothing has been started yet. If we were holding out until birth to find out the sex I’d be stealing your teal and lemon idea. Very cute.
