Still have to do:

– Cake tasting

– Send out invites (we ordered them last week and the proof should be arriving any day now)

– Figure out/order favors

– Purchase our wedding bands (I need to bring in my ring to be inspected early next month so we’ll probably pick them out then!)

– Hair and make-up trial (scheduled for end of July, same day as my bridal portraits)

– Book shuttle between hotel and ceremony venue (reception will be at the hotel)

– Confirm ceremony musicians and choose ceremony music

I’m also feeling ahead of the game! We took engagement pics the Sunday before last, and are waiting on those for the invitations. Other than that, everything is pretty much done. No menu tasting for us, and we’ve already decided on cake flavors. No hair trial, because my friend’s sister is doing it, and I already know how I want it. I might get her to practice closer to the day though.

I’ve been looking for my jewelry and a headband for my niece, who is our flower girl. My dress alterations are scheduled, flowers are done.

Oh! But the DJ! We need to make decisions about music/playlists.

ETA: FI needs a suit, we haven’t picked out wedding bands, I need to buy his gift (though I know what it is), I’m waiting on tulle color samples and then I’ll order my veil, finalize vow choices, FI needs to book honeymoon suite, my MOH probably hasn’t ordered the dress she chose yet, and I haven’t bought the gift I picked out for my mom yet, or scheduled a bachelorette party.

Holy crap! It’s amazing how all the little things pile up as you forget about them in your daily life lol. But I feel like wedding planning is a hurry up and wait type deal. There’s a timeline for things, so you can’t actually do everything all at once just to have it done, and it wouldn’t work monetary wise for me either.

Forgot to mention something else on the list (although we won’t be able to do this until much closer to the wedding date)- apply for and pick up the marriage license! I actually had a dream last night that it was the wedding day and we’d forgotten to get the license and were trying to figure out what to do- whoops!

I’m October 21st too!

I just scheduled my bridal portraits and my dress came in recently, but there’s so much left to do! My mom (bless her) is sending out my invites for me mid-July.

Everything with planning kind of has to pause until I get a better idea of how many people might be RSVPing “yes.” Depending on that, we might have room in the budget to splurge on the decor or we might have to go for the budget-conscious DIY work. Overall, though, we still have to work on:

-Vows

-Alcohol

-Suit rental

-His wedding band

-Miscellaneous decor

-Finalizing the menu (based on the guest count)

-Cake

-Dress fittings

And, lastly, all of the tedious stuff like shot lists for the photographer and the seating chart, but all of that will happen last.

October 21st

We have:

booked church/reception venue

reserved block of hotel rooms

booked photographer

booked hair stylist

hired wedding coordinator

hired caterer

bridesmaids dresses have been purchased (only 2, and the dresses were off the rack- made it easy!)

wedding dress has been cleaned (vintage)

invitations ordered and are ready to be mailed

Still need to:

hire a bartender

get linens, place settings, etc. figured out

decide on flowers with florist

cake tasting/decide on cake with bakery

engagement photos (maybe?)

And that’s just the big stuff- there are all sorts of little things that keep popping up- that list seems to get larger and larger. Add on a 4,00 mile move and starting grad school, and it gets complicated! It does make me feel better we all seem to be in the same spot timeline wise 🙂
