- Wedding: October 2011
This is loooong overdue. But I wanted to give a recap on our 10/22/11 wedding. If I could describe my day in 1 word, it would have to be magical. Honest to God, from the time I woke up (5:30 am) to the time I crawled into bed (12:30 am), the whole day was just spectacular! I got absolutely NO sleep the night before whatsoever. I tossed and turned and was basically running on hopes and dreams on my wedding day. When I woke up, it was like EVERYTHING that I was worrying about for the past couple of months (MIL issues, children issues, catering issues, etc), just completely slipped my mind. I woke up tired, but happy and excited. I stumbled out of bed, and into the shower for a good 20 minutes. I was so tired that i felt drunk. Then I came out, went back into the bedroom, put on my ipod mix and started with makeup, which took me an hour and 15 minutes. Yeah, I really took my time and was not nervous at all. Then Sis and I went over to the hair salon at 8:30 am where we met up with my other Bridesmaid or Best Man. We had a great time getting our hair done, we laughed, and recapped on a lot of good memories growing up. Then it was back home where we just made it in time for the photographer to show up. He was 1/2 hour early, so he started taking photos of my gown. About 11:00, it was time to get dressed! my Bridesmaid or Best Man of 20 years helped me get in it and boy was that gown glued on my body. She had to stop mid way zipping me up for me to take a deep breath. I thought i was going to crack a rib! LOL! Then it was time to walk down the stairs of the house I grew up in and meet my parents in all my glory. I looked gorgeous, and I felt gorgeous. The photgapher leaves the house at 11:45 and by 12:20 it was time to get into the car to be at church by 12:25 for our 12:30 ceremony. (2-3 minute drive from my parents house). I rolled up to the church in a 2011 Cadillac Escalade, tinted windows. Totally bad ass! I remember everything about our ceremony, most importanly my walk down the aisle with my dad. I told him as we were getting ready, to go slow so that i could take it all in. It was GREAT! I remember my husband telling me after my dad gave me away “You look beautiful” I remember getting choked up during the vows, but I held it together, and then BAM! We were husband and wife. After pictures at the Park, we headed on over to the reception. The room looked AMAZING! The centerpieces were exactly how i pictured them, the favor table and place cards looked beautiful. The presentation of the appetizers was something out of a gourmet magazine. The dinner service was fantastic! And the music, ugh! the music was off the hook. My Darling Husband and I worked really hard picking out music for the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. We received so many compliments from our guests and even our catering staff about how great the music was. Our pastry chef who made our wedding cake told us “I’ve been to and catered a lot of weddings, and this is by far one of the best one’s I have been to. I love your music selection, I have never heard music like this before at a wedding.” Everyone was having a great time! One of the things we were concerned about was our first dance song. It was 6 minutes and 30 seconds long. So, we worked it out by having our guests join in half way through the song, it just made it that more special. Looking back, i have absolutely no coplaints, no regrets, eveything ran smoothly the whole night. There were no “I should have done this or that” nothing, it was a perfect day from start to finish.
