@TeamMcGowan:I think when we get to the 90 day make will be freakin’ out (but a good freakin’ out).

You’re right the way those Bridezillas behave is horrible. I use to think it was encouraged by the producers but the more I see I’m thinking this is the way these girls really are. I’ve seen Bridezilla Updates and they arn’t any different. I wouldn’t have the nerve to act like a fool on tv even if that’s how I really was. The guys on the show are such wuss’s and don’t have a back bone. Mr. B can’t believe girls really go nuts before a wedding, treat their husbands to be like their lower than dog poop and I assure him “That will NEVER happen to me”.

I’m still looking for a song to walk down the aisle to, what’s yours?

@Ill Be Mrs B: did u happen to see the episode where this spoiled b*tch wanted TWO wedding bands because she didnt think just one had enuff bling, and she sat right at the jewelry counter with her fiance, trying on the bands, and when he asked why she needed two rings, she said “it isnt up to you, all you need to do is sign the paper” and his dumb a$$ self just signed it w/o saying a WORD!  haha, no wonder she had a HURRICANE come thru and ruin her entire outside wedding/reception..she deserved it! Losers!

I definately wanted to stay traditional in this area so for our ceremony here is our music:  Groom & Bridal Party walks in to “Air on a G String” by Bach, Im coming in to “Canon in D” by Johann Pachelbel and us all going out will be to “Water Music – Hornpipe” by Girlfriend Handel.  Do you have any songs that you have been playing around with?  And what is your first dance?  Ours is “We Danced” by Brad Paisley. I cant wait, B CRIES everytime he hears it. (Just for this reason I had a hanky embroidered with a lil something special on it, and I am going to have my Maid/Matron of Honor deliver it to him while im locked away waiting for the ceremony to start.

@TeamMcGowan: I do remember that bridezilla and she got her karma in a big way (hurricane weather). I laughed when I saw all her tablecloths blowing and the stuff on the tables was now on the ground. She was so concerned for herself that I believe that she jumped in the first vehicle available and wasn’t concerned for her new husband. Those bridezillas just crack me up. Did you see the one with Karen the girl from Staten Island? She screamed at her seamstress cuz there was a tiny itty bitty spot on her dress that the seamstress assured could be removed and the hairdresser that she tourtured and said she made her “Look like a dog”!!! I think she tops them all.

I love your music choices, very traditional. I’m still trying to figure out what to walk to. We have a short walk down the aisle so I think what ever we choose it will be the same song my girls (2) and I walk down to. I like Wedding Song by Kenny G and I just heard “The Ludlows Theme” from Legends of the Fall movie and I like that too. I think we’re going to go with “Always” by Atlantic Starr, when I played it for MR B he liked it cuz there was the man singing to the woman and the woman singing to the man. It’s old school, just like Mr B… his favorite type of music and mostly will be played at the reception.

I’m super excited, I just took the invitation wording to the printers today and will get a proof back by Tues. I looked at 2 different fonts so they will do both to see which one I like. I can’t wait to get them, my heart just fluttered thinking about them so I guess I’ll really have to go through with it now, it’s in print…j/k!!!! I’ve never had 2nd thoughts about marrying Mr B, I will never find another man as sweet as him and believe me I dated a lot of wrong ones but they only lasted a date or 2 and if I didn’t think they were right for me I would tell them “You’re a nice guy but I don’t feel any romantic chemistry between us” and went on my merry way.

I think were sending our invites about the same time, the first week in Aug right?

@Ill Be Mrs B: is Karen the spoiled jewish chick whose dad was paying for the wedding, so her whole thought process was I can have whatever I want!? I think they said Dad was spending over 100k dollars on her wedding. I do remember her treating the seamstress really bad and saying she looked like a dog about her hair. The part that cracked me up the most is where they were telling the story of when FI proposed to her at a restaurant..waiter carrying in a silver platter with the ring or something..and the boyfriend passed out and hit the floor..and when he woke up that stupid B*tch was sitting there with the ring already on her hand, eating her dinner! And she just looked up and said “hey, i was hungry”  OMGosh!!!  Didnt even try to help her man up off the floor or anything! Priceless!  Didnt she say she named her ring edna or ethel or some crap because its a fat ladies name and her ring was “phat” LOL  She sue does sound like someone Id want to be friends with..NOT!

We are using kenny g’s Songbird and The Wedding Song while our guests are being seated for dinner~  Always is your first dance? LOVE that song, I am such an 80s gal, you have no idea. I think im in denial. haha

Thats awesome about your invites.. do you mind if I ask how expensive they were/are? I went to Target and got a kit that included the card invitation, a sleeve that it goes into, the rsvps’s and all envelopes. I printed them all myself, and bought a $2 roll of ribbon and added a little bow to the top of each invitaion. They turned out beautifully! Looks just like a pro did it. The kit was 29.99. So proud of myself! The gal baking our cake (whose getting married next year) got hers from Davids Bridal and she said they were…wait for it..wait for it.. $365!!!  I was shocked!

Yes I am sending ours August 1st..with an RSVP of Sept 25. That will allow me 2 weeks for stragglers and to get my final head count in by Oct 8.

@TeamMcGowan: I bought 2 boxes of 50 invites on clearance for $20, total $40. I was at Target with my Bridesmaid or Best Man and I wanted to check out the invitations and when I saw that they were a plain white cards with black edge and a silver sleeve with black envelopes I KNEW I had to get them, Mr B is such a Raider fan I got them for him and that started the color scheme. lso cane with RAVP cards and envelopes. The printing will be a little under $100 for 75 invites. I was thinking of doing them myself but I didn’t want to screw up on them and have no way to get new invites plus I’m DIYing a million other projects. So for 75 invites total $140, not to bad (better than $365). When I get them back from the printer I’m going to be stamping in one of the corners a swirl design and embossing it. The bridal industry is such a ripoff, they know we need it so they hike up the price.

I have a RSVP date of Sept 15th. Do you think thats enough time. I can change it when I get the proof back if it’s not enough time.

@Ill Be Mrs B: sounds like you got a good deal as well! Gotta LOVE target!  The printing was very super easy. The manufacturer of the invitations gives a website to go to, you enter in your product number, and pre-installed templates come up. You can change fonts, layout etc. I printed a few test invitations to be sure I knew what I was doing, and they sure did turn out beautifully.  Maybe we can share pics when you get yours all done? I love the black and silver theme! Ours are just embossed white, with the green bow.

I saw this timeline countdown thing on theknot.com yesterday that says invites should go out 2-3 months prior. I never heard that before. Everything I ever read or saw said 6-8 weeks. Just to be sure I will have all mine in the mail Aug 1st! And yes ma’am, I think Sept 15 is plenty of time on your RSVPs. Im only picking Sept 25 because its Mr M’s birthday and seemed like a good cut off point because we were still 2-3 weeks away from having to give the head count.

@TeamMcGowan:I’m glad you had a good experience with your invites, it seems pretty easy. Yep. gotta love Target and gotta love Target clearance!!

I think if I got an invite to a wedding in August for a October 22nd date that’s enough time to know if I’m going or not. Even if they need a flight and hotel that’s plenty of time inless it’s a major holiday but I don’t think we have anything to worry about.

Most definately I will post my invites and I’d love to see yours. It’s getting c-l-o-s-e-r!!!!! Everytime I think about all I still have to do I freak out but then again I’d freak out if I had plenty of time too. I think it’s just the excitement of it.

@Ill Be Mrs B: in 2 more days we will go from a three digit countdown to a two digit count down. Im so excited I could puke lol

My dress came in on Saturday! I got the call from the bridal store about 6pm Saturday evening and I am scheduled to go for my first appointment Friday!  I am over the moon chicky, as my gown wasnt even scheduled to be SHIPPED until August 19th. That means she got here 6 weeks ahead of schedule! The bridal salon told me that this is pretty much a one in a million for them, thats its an extreme rarity that enything ever comes early. Not sure why me, but I am extremely thankful 🙂

@TeamMcGowan: lol @ “I’m so excited I could puke”… classic!!!!

I’m excited your dress came in early (but I won’t puke) and I bet you can hardley contain yourself. When do you get alterations? I’m going to wait a month or so before the wedding to do any alterations cuz I’m doing the Weight Watchers program and want to lose some weight before the wedding. I started walking a mile a day then to 2 miles a day and today I bumped it up to 2 1/2 miles. Boy howdy can I tell you my legs were a burnin’ when I thought it was a swell idea to walk up a long steep hill, half way up they started heating up and finally as full feldge burn. I was super happy when I was on level ground and trucked along til I was done. I went to a meeting tonight and have lost 2.2 lbs this week… whoo-hoo!!!

Soo..affective tomorrow (at 12n, our wedding time) we will have officially moved into the double digits. i can remember when I first started countdown, I was at 131 days, and here we are at 99! It really really has gone by fast.

Oh my gown! I know right! woot woot! I am going to the bridal store Friday, and I will try her on, discuss all alterations needed/recommended, than I have to take her to the stores alterations gal who does all her work at another location (closer to my house, yah!). My first fitting is set for Aug 17, which I think is like 8 weeks out from the wedding. My weight doesnt fluctuate at all, so I am not worried about it being done too early. Ill try it on 2 weeks before the wedding anyway, whether I have it or she still does, just to make sure all is OK. Honestly tho, I hope she just keeps it there til the week prior, that way I can do last fitting and have her steam it before I bring it home. Way easier than dragging it back and forth!

Kudos to you on the weight loss and walking.. I wish I could do a set schedule everyday, but I sooo hate working out! I dont mind a walk or bike ride, or maybe some mountain hiking, but eww girl, i cant stand the gym thing. Life is too short for that nonsense!

To ALL the October 22nd Brides, Happy 99 Days left!

@TeamMcGowan: I love to read how excited you are about your dress and I noticed you call it a “her”… ME TOO!!!! I’ve even named her, her name is Blanca cuz she’s a Casablanca dress. She’s at my son’s house in his guest room closet. Our house is to small to keep her here plus I don’t want Mr. B peeking!! We went to my sons house for mothers day to hang out and we left to go get food to eat and then watch a movie. I went to wash my hands and noticed his wife left the candle burning while we were gone. Uh… my dress is here and you left a candle unattended? I don’t think so…lol!!! I very nicely told him “Uh, I see you have a candle burning in the bathroom and you know a unattended candle can cause a fire. I don’t want your house to burn down plus I don’t want my dress to burn up… :)” I kinda felt like a heel for saying anything but it mostly was in a joking manner. I’m sure every bride has thoughts like that if her dress is in another location.

Happy 99 days left to you too!!!!!
