I have to move my wedding date due to FI’s parents (long story) from January 11 2014 to either October 4 or 11 2014. I haven’t yet officially moved to Boston (doing that at the end of the summer, mostly I travel there for work/to visit my FI) and I’m not sure whether I should go with Oct 4 or 11 for foliage, any advice? Our ceremony and reception are indoors (downtown) I just need to pick a date and I’d like to have nice pictures in Boston Commons with the fall leaves if possible.

@MrsMittansJohnson: October 11th for sure! That’s about when they’ll be starting to peak. Although, you never know, it depends when the cold front comes in for the fall, so be willing to be flexible. It will also be ongoing, different trees at different times so I’m sure you’ll have some nice ones. Congratulations and good luck! Sounds lovely!

11th will be columbus day weekend. just so you know. hotel prices may be a bit more due to the holiday. plus, it’s prime foliage “tour” season.
that being said, the 11th would probably be best, foliage color wise (: anything later, and it can be too cold to take outside photos. anything earlier, and the color may not be at its prime.

Thanks for the advice!!! I looked into hotel/flight prices for this Columbus Day to see if there was a difference, if anything flights are a bit cheaper (by about $10 but still), I have no idea why that is (maybe trying to encourage tourists to visit??) but at least they aren’t $100+ more expensive!!! Hotel prices were pretty standard, no change due to the weekend (at least as of now). I think we’re going to book with the 11th, and thank you again!!!
