I’m Oct 9th!  We’re not really doing anything different because it’s a Sun.  Afternoon ceremony and dinner/dancing reception after.

I’m an October 9 bride. πŸ™‚ It is Columbus Day weekend here in the States, so Mr. LK and I, and a lot of our friends and family, have the next day off of work. We are doing an early evening ceremony (5:30pm) followed by cocktail hour and a 5 course dinner with wine and beer pairings for each course, depending on which pairing the guest selects. It’s going to be foodie nirvana, and we are thrilled with our plan.

What does everyone have done so far?? I’ve got my dress, bridesmaid dresses picked out but not ordered, venue, photographer, dj, officiant, cake, save the dates, hairdresser, menu chosen and tuxes chosen! I just need to get a kick start on my invites, finish the DIY bouquets, seating chart, escort cards, and first dance song.

We have our venue, menu, photographer, officiant, ceremony draft, my wedding band, my dress and shoes, and the beginnings of our IPod list. We are meeting with florists next weekend, and we are actively working on dessert options. Those 2 things should be squared away by the end of March, if all goes as planned. My Maid/Matron of Honor has asked to delay her dress shopping for a few more months, and I am cool with that. Mr. LK already picked out his ring, and we will place that order in April.

Mr. LK still needs to get working on our paper suite with our graphic designer, and we both need to work on our favor design so that we can get those printed. I need to work on our place cards, my accessories, gifts for the parents and bridal party, and Mr. LK’s gift. We, as a team, still need to do our e-pics and registry, and pick out tuxes. So yeah, we have tons left to do. But right now we are focused more on finding our forever home than the wedding. There’s still plenty of time for wedding stuff.

I’m Oct 9 too!! You bees are really ahead with your planning. I’ve got all my vendor stuff done mostly, I’ve been dress shopping but still narrowing it down. I got engaged last June and purposely waited on a lot of the stuff so I wouldn’t be bored this year, now I’m enjoying the busy time. So far to do:

Bride/bridesmaids. I have a couple contender dresses I’ve seen online and want to try on at bridal boutiques. I plan to use plum for the maids, we are going to wait another month or so since mostly spring dresses are out right now.

I’ve picked out saved the dates, just need to get them printed then we have invitations in mind, again just have to go sit down and finalize.  Florist is a friend, he has ideas he will present when we meet, we’ve been sending him pics.

We are doing a 4:30pm outdoor garden ceremony (This is Boston so hopefully it will not be too cool, if it is or rains, we have a backup inside), then we’ll go to cocktail hour and a plated dinner through the night. Still have to pick out cake design too! So excited you bees are all the same day! The weekend was a no brainer for us, with fiances family coming from Oregon and CT, gives then a nice buffer to arrive and enjoy the weekend and they can go back monday after the festivities since they’ll have the Columbus day off.

Where are you bees honeymooning? We are thinking Mexico, Puerto Vallarta. Originally was thinking Virgin islands but the hurricane season scared us a little.
