sophie89 :  try to relax if you can. There’s literally nothing you can do at this point. If it doesn’t stick, it wasn’t meant to be xx

My toddler was up all night with a 105 temperature and throwing up. She was just diagnosed with Flu A. cry I’m so paranoid about getting it now. I know it can be especially bad for pregnant women.  Ugh!

And in other news, my OB just called and moved my appt up from March 6 to Feb. 21.  Not sure how I feel about that. On one hand, it’ll be nice to talk to her sooner, but I really liked the fact that my original appt was at exactly 8 weeks, which is when I miscarried last time. I guess I felt like if I could make it to that appt without issues, than I’d feel better. Silly, but I was clinging to that.

krystalite :  aw I think it’s awesome that youre drawing up plans though! I know I’m just being overly cautious and it’s not an approach for everyone. We’re renting at the moment but hoping to buy in the next few months..once we have our own house I’ll for sure be making alllll the plans haha.

kimmacph :   stringofpearls :  congrats ladies!!!  <3

krystalite :  omg I’m sorry you’re feeling so terrible!  Hopefully the antibiotics kick in asap.  As for taking medication for nausea, I’m reading Expecting Better (great book!) and the consensus among doctors seems to be that if morning sickness is making you truly miserable or unable to function, taking medication that’s thought to be safe is 100% the right call.  Hope you start feeling better soon.

And I’m with you on planning out renos!  My guy is losing his office too.  Actually he’s losing his bachelor pad, haha.  We don’t live together yet – we both own our own homes that are 4 blocks apart, so we haven’t yet bothered to move in, even though paying two mortgages for a couple years is kind of stupid.  We actually work together and see each other all day, so it hasn’t been bad to have our own separate places but spend every night at one or the other together.  Even before we knew I was pregnant, we planned for me to move in with him in May/June.  Now it’ll be me and *hopefully* a baby belly 🙂

Age/partner’s age: 27/27

Baby #1

Cycles TTC: 2

BFP story: It was my first month temping and it was the day I was supposed to get my period and I hadn’t yet, and also noticed my temp was remaining high… of course I couldn’t resist the urge to test. I ran to the dollar store for some cheapies and got a faint line. I thought there was something wrong with the tests so I had Darling Husband try one and his was stark white 😂. Rushed to CVS for a FRER and sure enough…

How many weeks / EDD? 5 weeks today

Team Green or finding out the sex? We would like to find out.

When are you telling people? Any special plans in doing so? Told my mom already because I needed help filling out a form the OB sent. 😝 She came over for breakfast and I had her play a game called “Hearing Things” with me. She had on headphones and had to guess what I was saying without hearing me. I said “you’re going to be a grandmother” and “I’m pregnant”. It took awhile for it to click but it was hilarious when it did. It totally shocked her.

Telling the rest of our close family after my 8 week appointment and might tell everyone else between 10-12 weeks assuming everything is going well…

Is anyone worried about catching anything during flu season? Lots of people in my office are down with flu and norovirus and I’m freaking out slightly! I also take public transport to work and there’s a lot of ill people on there too! Normally I take First Defence to guard against flu. Does anyone know of any natural remedies out there? I often took echinechia (spelling sorry!) a lot but I’ve heard it’s not recommended during pregnancy.

ETA I had the flu shot in October when we first TTC but it’s only active against three strains and obvs not norovirus

Mixed feelings posting here as I am half super excited, half terrified but here we go!

Age/partner’s age: 31/30

Baby #: 2

Cycles TTC: 4

BFP story: I decided to test casually on the morning of 11DPO even though I had no symptoms at all and a ton of cramping. Turned out the line was very clear on a cheapie. 5 other tests later it seems I’m still pregnant!

How many weeks / EDD? 4w1d, EDD Cctober 22nd.

Team Green or finding out the sex? I torn! We decided to find out with our first and then be team green for the second but we are doubting ourselves right now! We’ll probably end up finding out.

marriedbliss :  The flu is currently going around my house. I’ve been taking elderberry syrup, which has been shown in some studies to prevent flu and reduce symptoms. My Ob also ended up prescribing me tamiflu as a preventative. But I’d look into elderberry if I were you!
