My Future Mother-In-Law JUST started looking for a gown for our Oct 22nd wedding. She called me up last weekend to tell me the gown she saw and fell in love with was too expensive. Now, she is having a really hard time finding one. They usually take 3-4 months to order in, right? Do you think she still has time?

Niether my mom or Future Mother-In-Law have bought an outfit.
My mom is getting hers at le chateau most likely though. So it’s just off the rack.
Would she be able to buy something off the rack?

My Mom has her dress. She bought hers before we bought my MOH’s dress, and ended up getting the exact color that we were planning for MOH’s dress. oops But Mom looks great and got the dress for a steal, so I am thrilled.
Mr. LK’s Mom passed away almost 3 years ago, so I don’t have an FMI. But one of Mr. LK’s Aunts has already purchased her dress. His other Aunt and his Gramma are still looking, to the best of my knowledge. I am sure they will find something, so I’m not worried.

Hey date twin,
I hope it doesn’t take that long to get something in since as far as I know niether my mom or my Future Mother-In-Law have a dress yet yikes!

Well, there are not too many bridal shops in our area that carry MOB, and MOG gowns. The one’s that do are upscale, carry a limited selection, come in smaller sizes (10-14) and range in price from $700.00- $1,000.00 on up. At this point she may have to go to a high end department store and get something off the rack.

Um, neither my mom nor my Future Mother-In-Law have even started looking yet. I kind of thought it was something that could wait a little longer, oops! I guess they better start thinking about it!

Don’t worry, my wedding’s on the 7th and neither Future Mother-In-Law nor my mom have found a dress. The bridal store we’re using said it would take no more than 2 months for the dresses to ship, and you can even rush them if necessary. :]

I’m a September bride, and neither my Future Mother-In-Law or my mom has bought their dress – my step mom has though.
But I agree with PP. Look at off the rack stores – I doubt anyone will end up with the same dress, and you can find great stuff!

My Future Mother-In-Law hasn’t gotten her dress either. She’s having it made. I’m just hoping its all taken care of and finished before the wedding.

I’m a September bride and my Future Mother-In-Law bought a red dress! Red! My colors are purple and ivory! Plus it’s a bit low cut! Both my momma and my Future Mother-In-Law bough off the rack! I think you will be ok….there’s still time!

@lovekiss: I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your FMI. Glad to hear that your mom got her gown, and that your Aunt and Grandmother are in the process of getting theirs. I just hope my Future Mother-In-Law finds something soon. She told me that the sales lady’s eyes grew big when she told her the date of our wedding, like in other words, she should have been looking a lot sooner. So, now she’s a bit frazzled

@ceamoste: I think at this point, she may have to start looking for gowns off the rack. Even if she did find one, the shop might not be able to guarantee that it will get here in time for the wedding.

My Future Mother-In-Law had her dress even before I had mine but my mom and I are still looking for hers. I’m not concerned. She has plenty of time.
I guess it depends on the type of dress she’s looking for but most MOB/MOG dresses could easily be found in department stores.

@Mrs. Excited: Wow, red! The gown my Future Mother-In-Law fell in love with was black and asked if that was ok. I told her I guess so, as long as you don’t look like Morticia or Elvira in it. Interesting color choice since she is literally able to wear any color she wants unlike my mom who can only wear 3 colors.

My Future Mother-In-Law decided to make her dress. I know she has the fabric but I don’t know that its made yet.
