Minestrone and/or Italian wedding soup? Roasted squash soup?  Sorry, all I can think of are soups!

I would agree with pasta, maybe some roasted vegetables, roast beef (great when cooked for a long time in a crock pot!), pulled pork…

Butternut squash or pumpkin soup would be amazing.

What about roast turkey (or chicken)? You could have it presliced and kept warm, with gravy, in chafing dishes. For sides, sweet potatoes, glazed carrots, green beans almondine, cranberry chutney. You could throw together a big salad with greens, apple slices, dried cranberries, toasted nuts, etc.

How about herb roasted potatoes, and grilled vegatables.  For pasta you could have baked ziti or riggatoni. For meat, you could have a honey glazed ham or a roast beef.
