Colors: Plum, Ivory, Gold + yet to be determined accent colors

Theme: Elegant/Vintage/Garden

Wedding Party(#s): 1-MOH, 2-Bridesmaids, 1-BM, 2-“Groomsmaids”

Ceremony (where, time): Historic hotel – courtyard/garden at 4pm

Reception (where, time): Cocktail hour 4:30 – 5:30 in the “conservatory” between courtyard and ballroom


Ballroom: has crazy wall stencils and busy looking chairs – need to do something about this!

Dress Style: Satin with beaded bodice, v-neck, spaghetti straps, train

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): Hair (pro): updo; Makeup (pro) at hotel spa

Honeymoon Location: Probably Curacao or Antigua, maybe St. Lucia. Need to book asap!

Flowers: Haven’t decided!

First Dance Song: Lucky (Jason Mraz) or One-Eyed Cat (Jenny & Tyler)

Centerpieces: 1/2 larger floral, 1/2 candles, small floral

Food/Menu: Buffet with 2 entrees

Cake Flavour: Variety of cakes… cheesecake, carrot cake, one small more traditional wedding cake

Favors: pictures from photobooth and donation to the American Cancer Society in lieu of favors.

Shower (when/what): Family threw me a shower in July; shower with friends planned for Labor Day Weekend – Sunday.

Bachelorrete (when/what): Labor Day Weekend – don’t know the details yet. My Maid/Matron of Honor is flying in for this. Yay!

Engagement Length: 2 yrs 2months

Colors: Black & white stripes, Eggplant, Burgundy & Pink

Theme: Tim Burton Inspired Wedding

Wedding Party(#s): 2-MOH, 5-Bmaids, 2-BM, 5-GM’s, 1-RB, 2-FG

Ceremony (where, time): Art Gallery Loft, 6:15pm

Reception (where, time): Art Gallery Street level, immediately after Ceremony

Dress Style: Oleg Cassini in White CWG352. White slim A line gown with layers of pleated tule and alecon lace appliques on bodice and throughout the skirt.  Full Chapel train with a zip up back.

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): Hair (pro): Side swept down 40’s vintage wavy hair do with a white with black trim flower. Makeup(dyi): I really don’t like the trials I’ve had and that’s been like 3, so I’ll do it myself. Going for a vintage glam, dough eyes and Dark red lips πŸ™‚

Honeymoon Location: DISNEYLAND!!!!

Flowers: Eggplant & Pink Callas, Black/red Baccara Roses, Burgundy Carnations, Dark Purple Lisianthus, Purple Statice and Burgundy Fiddlehead ferns.

First Dance Song: Deuces are wild by Aerosmith. 

Centerpieces: Guests Tables: A 36″ Black glitter tree statue with illusion floating candles in striped candleholders. Black feathers wrapped around base of tree with some loose matching flowers resting on top of the feathers to add some color.

Head Table:  36″ Tall Candelabras with taper candles and a garland of air ferns and matching flowers around the base.  A black and white striped bow right underneath the arms/neck of the stand.  Small glass cube vases wrapped with a 1” thick striped ribbon with a ultra violet floralyte in water where bm’s are to place their bouquets.  There will also be 12″ black resin pillar candle holders alternating with every other vase and candelabra.

Food/Menu: Choice of entree: Chicken or Deep Pit beef

Cake Flavour: Chocolate with custard filling

Favours: Caramel apples

DJ/Band/Ipod: DJ

Shower (when/what): Not expecting one, Probably together with the Bachelorette party

Ceremony (where, time): Summerall Chapel, Charleston, SC 6:00pm

Reception (where, time): Embassy Suites downtown after ceremony

Dress Style: A-line strapless princess satin wedding dress with beaded Embroided detail and a cathedral train. Cathedral veil and swarovski crystal headpiece.

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): Hair-pro: Done by my hairstylist. Full updo with Hanging curls. Makeup- pro airbrush

Centerpieces: Each table will have a 20 inch, 16inch, and a 12 inch vase on top of a square mirror. Filled with blue water and sparkle Branches and at the bottom there will be a silver filler. Atoped with a silver foating candle. We will have something similar to these in front of the 3 huge windows:

Food/Menu: cocktail hour: Applewood bacon wrapped shrimp and petit quiches. Dinner: Pulled pork sliders with a choice of sauce and coleslaw, Garlic mashed potatoes, veggie and fruit trays, ratatouille, Hot carved roundship side of beef with hot buttered rolls and station chef, miniture cheese cakes. Full open bar.

Cake Flavor: One tier…. a vanilla base with a peanut butter truffle filling and a chocolate top layer. Second tier is a red velvet filled with cream cheese. The cupcakes are a lemon cake with butter cream icing on top.

Favors: Personalized (our logo) stemless wine glasses, Pens in our colors with an engraving of our date and logo, Individually packaged Krispy Kreme donuts with Royal Blue icing in a clear fronted Krisy Kreme bag topped off with a blue bow

Theme: “Woodsy Elegance”. Outdoorsy elements with rich fabics and candlelight. Pine cones are shaping up to be the symbol of the wedding.

Wedding Party(#s): 1-MOH, 4-Bmaids, 1-BM, 4-GM’s

Ceremony (where, time): 6:00 PM on the San Diego Bay, across from downtown.

Reception (where, time): 7:00 pm at a hall on the bay with floor to ceiling windows

Dress Style: Corset top, satin ball gown skirt with lots of pickups.

Honeymoon Location: Maui and Kauai

Flowers: White roses

First Dance Song: A secret!

Centerpieces: Alternating between glass cubes with hypericum berries and roses, and floating candle luminaries with river rock and roses.

Food/Menu: Choice of entree: Roast tri-tip, blackened salmon, jamaican jerk chicken

Cake Flavor: 4 tiers – red velvet, country pear, pumpkin spice, strawberry

Favors: Halloween candy buffet!

Wedding Date: October 2 (Sunday). Was originally November 20 and then October 16, but this date is final!

Engagement Length: 1 year (51 weeks exactly, actually)

Colors: Black, red, and white

Theme: Damask/black-and-white swirls

Wedding Party(#s): None

Ceremony (where, time): Outdoor patio on roof of our city newspaper’s historic tower building, 1 p.m.

Reception (where, time): Room adjacent to patio, 1:30 p.m.

Dress Style: Ivory charmeuse – Maggie Sottero “Jamie” πŸ™‚ Description from their website: “Slim line, strapless gown with dipped neckline and corset closure. This style is essential for the chic and sophisticated bride. Intensely ruched Monroe Satin is drawn to a knotted detail at the center front and back creating splendid, radiating lines. The back skirt is centrally gathered for a glamorous train.”

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): Hair is in a short pixie so I’m just doing it as usual and then attaching my headpiece. I’m a makeup-artist-in-training so I’m doing my own.

Honeymoon Location: Disneyland! πŸ™‚

Flowers: Paper; we’re crafting them all.

First Dance Song: “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnificent Zeros, it’s our song. <3

Centerpieces: A shallow bowl holding greenery and a larger vase which will hold water and some submerged blue orchids for color as well as some peacock feathers.

Food/Menu: Buffet-style presentation. Dishes: Moroccan lamb meatballs withmint, seasonings, and rice crumbs (gluten-free). Some other meat option TBD. Stuffed mushrooms with a cheese/veggie spice mix (vegetarian). Baguettes with toasted brie, a balsamic reduction, and sweet fig. Chevre in three flavors: hazelnut, herbs de provence, and cracked pepper. Assorted crackers and fruits. Bleu cheese dip and assorted veggie arrangement.

Cake Flavour: 3-tier cake, with each tier getting smaller. Bottom tier: Washington Apple, white outside with red ribbon band on the bottom and dot pattern on outside. Top tier is the same flavor and design but is round. The middle tier is almond-poppyseed and lemon filling, and has black filigree swirls as decoration. It’s an octagon.

Favours: Still working on/possibly none (we had had a plan in place that involved a family friend baking cupcakes, but she up and decided that she “didn’t feel like it”. grrrrr).

DJ/Band/Ipod: Playlist (iPod style)

Shower (when/what): None.

Reception (where, time): restored country inn with rustic ballroom (stone fireplace, cedar beamed ceiling, slate tile floors, panoramic windows with views of the mountains)… It will be dark, though and the DJ is doing a lighting effect to make a “starry sky” over the dance floor!

Dress Style: slim a-line, antique ivory with lace and delicate beading

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): pro hair, long hair in half updo with side part and loose curls.  DIY makeup.

Honeymoon Location: Florida and Central America

Ceremony (where, time): Hilltop over looking 360 degree views of miles and miles of vineyards

Reception (where, time): winery event room, tasting area, and surrounding patios

Dress Style: Satin,lace,and tulle fit n flare corseted gown with a semi cathedral train

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DYI): Hair (pro): 1/2 up 1/2 down with side swept bangs and extensions wih a crystal head sash and fingertip length veil (veil only for the ceremony). Makeup (pro): combination of airbrush and traditional stylings (with lip stain and chapstick (i’m not a lipgloss or lipstick kinda girl). 

Honeymoon Location: TBD (not going untill later this year because i just stared a new job and dont have enough time off for a honeymoon yet)

Flowers: ceremony: my bouquet-white callelilies with a collar of yellow freesias;bridesmaids- all yellow freesias; fiance-yellow freesia and white calla lily; groomsmen-single yellow freesia; aisle lined with yellow rose petals; and hanging grapevine balls with yellow freesias, white orchids, and white calla lilies. 

First Dance Song: Stealing Cinderella- chuck wicks. 

Centerpieces: large (2 1/2 feet tall) clear glass cylindars with ricks in the bottom, supporting curly willow and manzanita branches (approx 5 feet tall total) decorated with crystals, hanging candles, and attached white dendrobian orchids. (two pears are inside each cylindar vase resting on top of the rocks (which we collected at the beach)

Food/Menu: Choice of entree: Lmon Artichoke Pesto Cream Salmon or Balsalmic Glazed Aged Rib Eye Steak

Cake Flavour: Pink Champagne with Strawberry Mousse filling and whipped cream icing covered in fondant

Shower (when/what): Its was July 30th at My Mom’s house/ Alice in WOnderland theme… I created a floating tent in the backyard for shade… it was beautiful and completely with the mismatched china tea table for 21 guests
