We finally figured out favors. We have gotten personalized matchbooks and we are going to pair that with a scented candle. I figure if people leave those around, we can use them…

We just finished ours and ordered a mock-up yesterday. We made a cookbook filled with all of our favorite recipes. Mr. LK and I love to cook and entertain, so it worked perfectly. i hope the mock-up is as beautiful on paper as it looks on screen. πŸ™‚

@lisha.caramel where are you getting the olive oil? I love that idea but it sounds sooo expensive!

I was thinking of making either:

-bags of chai spices (mix I’d make an include a recipe) – adding honey sticks to this would be amazing! but would we do honey sticks (one for each bag) or a jar of them for people to take? the jars just look so pretty πŸ™‚

-mediterranean-inspired tiles using ceramic tiles, felt and patterned paper

whichever we do, it has to be this week so I can make them!

I love all your ideas!! wish we could do them all πŸ™‚

@Masala: I love this idea!  I might steal that as a rehearsal dinner favor πŸ™‚

We’re doing cookies with their name and table # as escort cards…  Then at each place setting there will be a box with 2 truffles.  We’re also doing a wedding donation to a charity that is meaningful to us and DF’s family, so there will be a little card with the charity info at each person’s place, letting them know the donation has been made on their behalf.

His family does ridiculously generous/expensive favors and mine just does candy (if anything), so it was super hard to find something that would be appropriate and yet budget friendly.

@Waves2: Thanks. We really hope that our guests love them. Working on this project has been my favorite part of the whole planning process so far.

yowza you gals have some excellent ideas! I’m thinking about paying for these wonderful locally made salted chocolate covered caramels….they are absolutely my favorite candy! And I like that they’re local, making them a little more personal. They’re a lot cheaper if I get them on silver trays instead of individually wrapped in boxes….is it wierd to have a tray of chocolates as a favor?

We’re thinking of doing cake pops. I’m not sure how to present them, though. I love that they are so economical, $1.25 ea. We’re also serving cake, but I’ve been assured that no one will mind cake pop + cake. It has been suggested that I have something to contain the cake pop in for those who prefer to transport theirs home with them. And that’s what I’m not sure about. Cellophane bags?

My other thought is Fleur de Sel Caramels. @lateBloomer, that’s an intriguing idea of presenting them on silver trays. I’m hoping someone gives you some feedback. Smile

Fiance is from Kansas….so we are doing little jars of sunflowers seeds in clear glass jars tied with raffia and the cutest little notecard from minimoo saying “Enjoy a Taste from FI’s hometown” Not really fall but I wanted to suprise Fiance with a lil something πŸ™‚
