We getting married in his homestate Wisconsin.  It’s a 5 day waiting period and expires 30 days.   We will have to pay extra to get a 3 day waiting period, since the Monday we arrive is a holiday.

In IL its 60 and we got ours last week.  No real reason, we were just available to go in the morning and wanted it off our list.

@bebefly: Same in Alberta, 90 days. I wonder if that’s all across Canada? Now I have to go check!

We’ll probably go sometime in September.

I just checked this morning and ours are good for 60 days in NY. Considering the Town Clerks hours are crappy for anyone who actually has a job, Fiance and I will be taking a half day next Friday to make the hour trip up north. Thankfully it’s only $40 which is incredibly surprising considering NY generally likes to charge an arm and a leg for everything.

PA marriage licenses are good for 60 days, and go into effect after 3 days. We will probably get ours the end of September early Oct.

I just looked it up and they’re good for 3 months in Alberta so I guess we can go anytime now!

In the county where we are getting married, the license is valid for 6 minths after issuance, but we haven’t gotten ours yet. Mr. LK and I have had one heckuva summer at our jobs, and taking a day off has not been an option. My current project is peaking now, and will hit a lull in mid-September. So I will be able to take a day off then, and we’ll go get it. The courthouse is about 90 minutes from our home, so we’ll probably make it a little day trip and enjoy a chance to spend some time together. <3

We can’t get ours until the Monday before our Saturday wedding. Makes me a little nervous but we have to get it in person in Oregon and we live in Maryland. We just have to get it 3 days in advance though. Jealous of everyone who gets to cross this off their list!

@.twist.: A bunch of googling has yielded the info that except for Nova Scotia (valid for 1 year), Nunavut and Quebec (couldn’t find the info on either one), the period of validity for a marriage license is, indeed, 90 days. 🙂

It’s valid for 60 days here in Mass, with a 3 day waiting period. We are planning to go next Friday afternoon – that will be my last half-day Friday, and Fiance is going to take a 1/2 day (since the hours are 9-3!). We just grabbed the certified copy of his birth certificate from his parent’s house last night!

In Georgia, there is no expiration date. We had to go when we both had a day off so we got ours in June.
