Hi Bees! I am starting this thread for people who have fitness goals (ie. losing weight, eating healthy, exercising more, reaching milestones (ie. running a mile)) and want to work on them in October. Tomorrow starts a new month, and the last full one before “holiday season” so I figure it’s a perfect time!
Goal: My goal is to get back into my fitness routine. I was doing great at the gym but my membership expired and I didn’t renew because we are saving money for the wedding. I’ve been doing 30 day Shred sporatically and running (ok, I’ve only ran 2x out of the probably 10 times I’ve said I would go). So my goal for October is to finish the 30 day Shred (I’ve done 6 days) and to run at least 500 minutes!
Why: I’m trying to tone up and also lose the last bit of weight until my goal. I have about 20-25 lbs left to lose and it’s gotten harder and harder to lose it (I’m down 45 lbs). I also want to feel strong and fit, rather than “skinny fat” (not that I’m skinny now, but you know what I mean)
How are you going to reach your goal?: I am writing my workout schedule and putting it on the fridge and also into my phone to set little reminders to keep me on track with doing my workouts. I’m also going to go to sleep with my workout clothes on so I just have to wake up and do 30 day Shred without thinking too much about it! Finally, I bought an armband for my IPhone and have to go pick it up to use on my runs, it will be easier. I’m also using the Nike+ running app to keep track of my runs so I can keep track of the 500 minutes!
Ok, your turn!

Yay! I’m so glad you posted this!
Goal: My goal is to track my food intake in myfitnesspal and workout five days a week. I was going good until I got sick this past week and lost my motivation. I know that as long as I track my food intake I will lose weight, so I just need to stick with it. I also have a very pretty black dress I would love to wear for holiday parties that doesn’t do up currently… maybe I will aim to fit back in!
Why: I had finally reached a weight I was happy with, (approx 145lbs) and then I moved in with my SO and gained around 50lbs. I just want to fit in my clothing and feel comfortable in my body.
How are you going to reach your goal: I am going to head to the gym on M/T/TH/F for Zumba or a Step class and either hike or run once over the weekend. I will not purchase any food that I shouldn’t be eating because if I clearly cannot eat it responsibly I shouldn’t keep it in the house! hahah

Goal: I have also fallen out of my fitness routine. I would like to get back in the habit of tracking my steps and waking 8000 steps a day. I would also like to do this by walking my dogs.
Why: Because I’ve put on 15 pounds after moving in with my SO that I haven’t been able to shake. And because my dogs need regular excercise too!
How: I am going to make changing into my workout clothes and walking the dogs first thing after work when I get home a priority. I am going to set my step tracker on my phone to track my steps.

@MsYankee: You are my hero!
Goal: I need to get back into a fitness and healthy eating routine. I did SO well pre-wedding and as soon was it was over I slipped back into bad habits! I’d like to lose a couple of pounds but ultimately just be healthier. I need an awesome bikini body for December as Darling Husband and I are on holiday for Christmas! So i’m aiming for a full diet turnaround and 3 gym sessions a week.
Why: I’d like to be healthier in general. I eat pretty healthily but exercise is lacking. Plus, I need to look good on the beach in December/January!
How: I’ve just signed up to a new gym. It’s quite expensive but I think actually laying out a lot of money each month will force me to go. My Darling Husband is also looking to get fitter so we’re helping each other out. For each gym session I miss, I’m going to forgo a glass of wine on Saturday nights!

@MsYankee: Good God, 500 miles.. that sounds like my worst nightmare! But you go girl!

Goal: My goal is to lose the last of the 10 lbs I gained since the wedding. I was one of those who stopped caring after the wedding and ate whatever, didn’t exercise.. then my Mother-In-Law passed away & that didn’t help at all. I’ve already lost 5, so I just need to get rid of those last 5 to be back at my original weight!
Why: I was so happy with my figure and myself when I was at my goal of 120 lbs. I felt great, looked great & I miss that feeling. I know it’s only 5 lbs, but on someone with a short petite frame 5 lbs can make a big difference. Plus we’re going on a romantic get away for my bday in Nov and I want to knock his socks off with a little cute outfit and I want to feel good in it 😉
How are you going to reach your goal?: I’m back to using my calorie counting app, which has helped me a lot in the past! (I orignally lost 50 lbs in 1 1/2 years, I used that app and it really helped!) So that’s keeping me accountable and my gym membership started back up from the freeze I put on it over the summer. So I’ve been sticking to my goal of getting up there 3 times a week and doing 2 miles each time, whether on the tmill, ellipitcal etc and doing some weight machines for my arms. I’m also starting this today. I did a similar 30 day challenge in July for squats, and whoa did it make a difference! I had thighs of steal!

Lets do this!
Goal: My goal is to get into a better fitness routine, and start eating better. I did great before the wedding, but ever since the wedding I have just let all of that stuf go! I really want to change my lifestyle alltogether. Try new heathy recipes, go to the gym. And just be healthy and happy with my body. My goal is to lose about 30-35 pounds.
Why: I am trying to get my body to a place where I will be happy, and stay that way. I want this to be a change that I make indefinitely. I want a healthy household as well, and this is something that both my husband and I wand to work on.
How are you going to reach your goal?: I am going to set up a schedule for when I will work out during the week, and start tracking my food intake on myfitnesspal. My husband and I are planning to join a gym and work out together, but I also plan to take group classes like pilates, zumba, etc. I also plan to completely cut soda from my diet and drink A LOT more water!

Yay! Glad you are all on board! Let’s keep each other on track!
@MrsSancerre: haha, thanks!
@X0JLYNN03: 500 minutes, not 500 miles! haha I would NOT be able to do 500 miles in a month!!
@DiamondsandViolets: I’m glad you’re doing it with me!!
@veryberry13: What breed of dogs do you have? I can’t wait to have dogs, we’re going to get 2 when we get a house, but for now in our apartment it’s us and our 2 cats!
@desiree.0615: I like that you said you want a healthy household. That’s awesome, I’m trying that as well. Fiance has lost a significant amount of weight as well and we kind of already have a somewhat healthy household in some respects, but definitely have too many sweets (mostly for him) in the house! I’m trying to work toward a healthier household thing too!

Goal: My goal is to get into a fitness routine. I go in phases, I go hardcore for a month or two and burn myself out then quit for a couple months. I want to find a routine that my body likes and can stick to.
Why: I lost 65 lbs on weight watchers over 2 years, but then hit a plateau for a year or 2. Now that my wedding is coming up I really want to get down another 20-40 lbs and look fit and healthy, but also just feel great and not self-conscious
How are you going to reach your goal?: I’m tracking my food with my fitness pal, and walking every day at lunch. I’m going to start incorporating a couple of more vigorous workouts into my schedule and write them on the calendar so I’m kept accountable. I’m going to try alternating running, swimming, biking, and 30 day shred on Mondays and Fridays, and I’ll be doing Piloxing every Weds for the next 6 weeks.
My birthday is on Thursday, and will be going out for dinner Thurs, Fri, a party on Sat and dinner again Sunday, and Monday… I’m going to have to run 10 miles a day! But I’ll start my plan next week when I have some time to do a bit of planning 🙂 I really like the 30 day calendar that @X0JLYNN03: posted, I’ll maybe incorporate that too!

Goal: I want to get back into the routine of stopping by the gym a few times a week, and back into cooking more of my meals at home. I’d also like to quit artificial sweeteners.
Why: I just feel unhealthy. School is back in session so I spend all of my time sitting on my butt and stressing out. I could lose some weight, but I fit into all my clothes right now. In spite of that, I feel gross. I’m not eating three regular meals a day, and when I do eat I’m eating far too much “quick” food (frozen raviloi and frozen burritos). This, combined with a lack of physical activity has caused me to feel lethargic, tired, and irritable.
How are you going to reach your goal?: I am going to schedule time during the week to drop by the gym on the way back home from school. I am going to reach out to a couple of my friends that have memberships at the same gym and schedule times to go together. I’m going to start making simpler and quicker meals in larger amounts so I always have something ready in the fridge.

Ooops, forgot one other thing: I’ve developed a disgusting love of sugar free Red Bull. I drink it often enough that it doesn’t have much of an effect. I can drink a can and fall asleep an hour after. I think I’m going to try drinking unsweetened green tea instead.

@veryberry13: Oh! Walking my puppy is now added to my list! She has so much energy I have no excuse for being lazy. What kind of dog do you have? I have a lab x border collie named Whiskey.

Thanks for posting this! Lets support eachother!
Goal: I would like to lose 10 lbs to get back to the weight I felt best at. I have toned up significantly in the past 4 months, but i need to shed some of the fat over my new muscles, by eating healthier and limiting my cheat meals. I would like to do this before new years.
Why: I know I am getting engaged before the end of the year, and we are planning for a fall wedding next year. That means wedding dress shopping this winter! I would like to feel my best while I am trying on dresses, rather than tell myself “well I will look better on my wedding day because I will weigh less”. I would love to look as I will on my wedding day! That way I can just work on maintaining for the next year.
How are you going to reach your goal?: I already go to the gym 5 days a week, but I have been switching up my workouts to keep it challenging. I previously did a lot of cardio and did not see significant results. Now, i do a lot more weight training/ group fitness classes/ workout videos. I am already seeing a difference! I need to concentrate most on my diet. I cut out beer (except for the occasional) and don’t drink wine during the week anymore (when I drink on the weekends I drink vodka waters- I hated it at first but its so refreshing now, and no hangovers!). I also bring veggies (cut up peppers are my favorite) as snacks to work, and bring my own lunches. I have also started following more fitness pages on instagram and look at them in the morning before i hit the gym. Its so motivating!

@MsYankee: Ha! I must of read that too quick & read it wrong. But even 500 minutes is impressive!!
