Hi Bees!! We are totally LOST as far as honeymoons go. We are getting married Oct. 3rd and would like to go right away. We don’t want to spend a ton of money, maybe max out at about $5000. Now that’s what I am comfortable with…Fiance is more along the lines of $3500. We would really like to do something tropical, but with the options of doing more adventrous things as well. I feel like it isn’t too much of a tall order, but am having trouble coming to a place! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for the help!!

Hey date twin!!! We’re doing Walt Disney World…not exactly tropical, but my Fiance hates the sun…
Anyway, our total honeymoon I think is $1900 plus $1000 airfare, plus food and incidentals on the trip of course.
Have you thought about a cruise of some sort? I don’t know how far a port is from you, airfare might blow your budget, but a cruise is a fantastic vacation…I would recommend that, it was our second choice after Disney.

Hawaii is always a popular tropical adventure spot! I’ve been three times and I loved it each time.
I’m not sure how expensive tickets will be in October but Bali is also a great tropical destination. The most expensive part is getting there – after that, everything is super affordable! It’s a good mix of beach, culture, and unique places to visit and things to do. Just to give you an idea, we booked the Intercontinental Resort for $160/night and hired a private driver for 9 hours a day for $35/day (parking, lunch, tolls, gas, ALL included).

If you do go caribbean make sure to get insurance, you never know what may happen during Hurricane Season!
I’m 10/10 and we are going on a european cruise, sounds expensive, but the deals are outrageous right now. Some cruise lines, like MSC, are offering free airfare!

Hawaii is great, but I think it would be hard to do on a 5K budget. We are pretty much decided on going to Bermuda – very quaint and romantic and a two hour flight. Since we have only a week to honeymoon, we did not want to spend most of our time on a flight. Also, we are big golfers and a lot of the Caribbean islands are really limited for golf.

We’re 10/10 and our budget was $3500, but we wanted to be away more than a week. We’ll be gone ten nights in the Dominican Republic at the Majestic Elegance and we’re under budget (by like a dollar, but still!). I wanted somewhere warm but a place with history. The major city in the DR has an amber museum (like Jurassic Park!) and there are several smaller beaches I want to visit. I want to hike to waterfalls too. There’s also a horseback riding day-trip we’ll do (I was on the Equestrian Team in college so that excursion really appeals to me). We got a deal through gogo vacations with our travel agent. GL with your search.

We are going to the Mayan Riviera and booked our trip through a travel agent and it includes trip insurance. If there happened to be a big storm of some kind we have the option to reschedule or to attend a different resort for the same price. The entire trip will cost about $4000 but that includes food, drinks, resort and two trips to scuba dive 😉 happy planning!

We’re getting married October 10th and are planning our honeymoon to Thailand. Its an expensive flight, but cheap cheap to stay there. We are going for a month to make the flight price worthwhile. We’re going to book our first few nights in a hotel, and then travel around to all the islands. Its definitely a more adventerous option that all of the typical all-inclusive options out there.
Good luck finding your perfect honeymoon spot!

We are getting married in September, and due to the season, have decided to do a all inclusive in Aruba. Aruba lies outside the Hurricane belt, so we will have the best chance of good weather for that time of year.

We’re getting married in October of 2010, but we’ve already talked honeymoon a little – we’re talking about doing a cross-country train trip and spending the bulk of our time in California. Have you thought about someplace like San Francisco, San Diego or Santa Barbara? There is plenty of adventuring to do, and since airfare would be pretty cheap, you could stay at a really nice hotel.

We got married in October last year and went to Hawaii. We spent the week in Maui and did it for under $5000. The weather was beautiful and it’s not their busy season, so we got some good deals.

A really cost effective route is a little predictable- but we’ve looked into Sandals. They are always running specials and if you stay in the more affordable rooms (you’re not going to spend that much time there anyways right??)- you can do it really affordably. Ultimately, we decided to do Jamaica- but we’re staying in some of the smaller all inclusives. Still economical, but a little different!

We are going to Hawaii for our honeymoon in October. We are staying a week on Waikiki Beach. For the two of us it is around $4000 with round trip flights and hotel.

We’re thinking about San Diego or Laguna beach in October – the flights are sooo cheap ($400 round trip for the two of us) and plan on staying in a cute B&B or smaller hotel in a nice suite – I like to try and help out small businesses! Know of a good place?
