Question about PIO shots: Did anyone here self-administer these? Just found out that my tentative FET is October 23rd (so excited!) and that I will need to start PIO on the 18th. Unfortunately, hubby will be out of town the first day for work. I asked a few irl IVF friends about it but they all had their husbands do the shots for them. Any tips for self-administering?

Just did my first PIO shot. FET is scheduled for Oct 23. Shout out to synera patches for making the shot 99% painless. No shout out to my insurance refusing to cover the cost of the patches. $188 per box of 10 at Duane Reade (Walgreens) in NY. Anyone order these from a mail-in pharmacy at a lower price point?

goldenbrown :  thanks! I got nervous so I went in for a third beta and it went up to 961! I feel so much better 🙂 I haven’t heard of those patches, so they help with pain after the shot? I don’t have an issue with the shot itself, but I have huge welts and lumps that hurt and itch for DAYS

LAZB :  Ah we shall see how my tush feels tomorrow :/ I am giving myself the shots and it was my first time so wanted to use a numbing agent. Will see how I feel tomorrow…

Were you scheduled for a third beta or do they just let you go in whenever?

goldenbrown :  I wasn’t scheduled for a third beta, but I called in and they let me get one. I had three miscarriages last year so I guess I’m paranoid :/
