So, I know this might be really early, but I know I’m also probably not alone.
We sent out our invites today (i.e. they’re probably still sitting at the post office), with an RSVP date of August 31. Our venue wants a final headcount by September 18 (a month in advance, I know, crazy). To get those two weeks of chasing down stragglers, we had to do an August 31 RSVP date. We needed to send them out with plenty of lead time because about 50 of our 190 invited guests are out of state AND USPS (worthless!) lost about half our save the dates so I don’t know if everyone even knows the date yet! UGH sorry for that run-on sentence. I’m trying to treat it as a pseudo-destination wedding, since a lot of our guests will need to make serious travel and accommodation arrangements.
Anyway, any other October brides out there sent their invites out yet? (Any DW’s in particular?) Even crazier, has anyone started getting RSVP’s? Let’s use this thread to keep track of each other. ^.^

I sent my invites out last week!! I did not send out any Save the Dates so thought I should send a few months in advance.
I have got 2 replies back!! One co-worker and my sister Love my sister!
I am the type to have things done earlier than later so you are good to go!

@mk0589: oh, date twins!
my sister definitely will not be one of the first to reply. maybe one of the last, actually. she’s a Bridesmaid or Best Man though so it’s all good. she’s just the opposite of me, so lackadaisical..haha
i’m super type a and have gotten things done early this whole time – but let me tell you, the few times when sh** has really hit the fan, i’ve been SO GLAD i’ve gotten so much out of the way early! i know i’ll be thankful for it in a couple of months!

- Wedding: October 2013 - The Down Town Club, Philadelphia
Ours go out this weekend!
I think I messed up on the RSVP date, though. I put it as Sept. 12 (a month in advance) bc our venue doesn’t need a final count until a week before.
But I think giving people that much time will make them lazy to reply? I don’t know, maybe I’m overthinking it.
I can’t wait for them to be out of my house, and for the RSVP’s to start coming in!

We sent our invites 3 weeks ago due to guests out of country, list A and B and the fact that we haven’t sent out STD’s.
We got 8 replies back so far.

i sent my invites out mid April (STDs went out last October) – super early but have family in bahamas, spain, portugal and france so needed to get them out early so flights could be arranged.
i have a RSVP date of Sept 1st – purely because i dont want to be waiting til the last week to know if people are coming or not. our vendors dont need to know numbers until 1 week before but i figure with a date of Sept 1st the last straglers should be sending RSVPs back by the beginning of October.
all in all – we have had about 50% of our RSVPs back.

i think you’re fine. technically I think etiquette or whatever says you’re not supposed to give them more than one month to respond, but I don’t think that’s really taking all factors into consideration.
well, i’m glad to see i’m not alone! i’ll be excited to hear as you ladies start getting RSVP’s in!!

We had originally planned a May 3, 2014 date but just changed it to October 19, 2013 about a week ago. So I’m sending out my invites this week!

I’m hoping to have my invitations next week and send them out no later than the 22nd. My RSVP date is August 24th. We sent out Save the Dates in January and as far as I know, everyone got them so they’ve had plenty of notice and time to book the hotel room. I am including the hotel information in the invitation just in case some people forgot though.
I had some major complications when it came to my invitations and ideally I wanted them this week so I can send them next week, but things didn’t work out that way : But I don’t think sending them out by the 22nd will be too late.

I sent the invitations out in May. Everyone except my parents will have to travel to the wedding so I wanted to give a lot of lead time for booking time off, etc. The hotel the wedding gave our guests until August 13 to get a discounted rate for rooms, so we just picked that as the RSVP due date. I’d say about 1/3 of our guests have RSVP’d but the RSVP’s have hit a major plateau in the last couple of weeks.

I’m so anxious about being behind schedule for sending out our invitations! My Etsy person has been draggggging her feet, and they won’t be shipped to me until this Friday. So we will be mailing them out next week. I wanted to have them sent by now like you ladies!!!
Luckily our guest list is very small (I only have 21 envelopes to address!!), we sent STD’s in February, and we already have a pretty good idea of who is making it and who is not. All of our family members have booked flights. Honestly, there’s only about 6 people that we don’t know if they will be there.
Our RSVP date is September 1st. Head count is due to the venue on September 5th.

@TwoStatesBride: We have a weird situation. The wedding is technically a Destination Wedding for us, since we live in CO and the wedding is in CA, but 97% of our guests live in the town where the wedding is :). We sent out STD Christmas cards last year, and everyone who is traveling into town already has their arrangements made, so I’m sending out the invites the last week of July/1st of August!

I just spent ALL day putting together my invites and only have half done! Hopefully I can finish the rest tomorrow! I’m sending mine out the first week of August with an RSVP date of Sept 4, one month before wedding. We send Save-The-Date Cards ask people already know the date and other info from our wedding website.
I think I may go to the post office tomorrow to see what my postage will be like 🙂

@TwoStatesBride: I sent invites out last week on Monday and only had two people RSVP, we have a wedding website to RSVP so it shouldn’t take this long for them to do so. I want to say, “come on people, what is more important than our wedding day? RSVP already!” Lol.
