If you are looking for romantic, the Rocky mountains might still have changing leaves at that time of the year and the mountains are always great.

I don’t know if you’re willing to go to the West Coast, but Southern California is very warm and nice in October. Plenty to do too 🙂
If you want, PM me. I live just south of LA on the beach and have been to a lot of cool places in SoCal.

San Francisco(especially if you’re wine lovers)
If you’re outdoorsy people: New England is beautiful in October.
Disney World is ALWAYS fun!

@jpmurd09: Arizona is still pretty warm in October.. especially Scottsdale/Phoenix area. There are some gorgeous resorts there. We stay at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess every September for a week or so.

Darling Husband and I took a trip around the east coast last October to see the leaves change. It was beautiful!

We had ours in Vegas even though we dont really gamble or drink. We had a great time. There is plenty to do–heck just checking out the hotels can take several days LOL
I wish we would have had time to take a quick day trip to the Grand Canyon. It’s still warm enough to hang out at the pool. But keep in mind, many of the hotels close down the big extravagant pools and just have the smaller simple pools open.
We could get a decent non-stop flight. We stayed at the MGM and Flamingo (Go rooms) because the price was low then high at one and high then low at the other. If we had to do it again, we would stay at the Flamingo. MGM has a younger, partying vibe to it. While the Flamingo has a more laid back cruise feel to it.

What about Key West? It’s still the US but also has that Caribbean feel.
Also, Jackson Hole is gorgeous and very romantic!

@starz88962: I wanted to go to Key West but am horribly afraid of the hurricane season 🙁
Thanks ladies for all of the great suggestions! I have been looking into San Diego but need to find cheaper flights 😉 I also am looking into Tennessee because we love hiking!

I’m going to Florida/DisneyWorld October 26th-November 2nd!

Texas! There’s something for everyone in Texas and in October it’s finally not hot as hell.

@jpmurd09: There are some beautiful places in Nevada to go hiking and so different than the east coast.

Big Cedar Lodge, it’s beautiful! It isn’t beachy and would probably be chilly but that’s where I went for my honeymoon in October and it was perfect. Sooo romantic. I wrote this post about it. Check it out.

I think we’re going to Orlando 🙂
