Hi october bees-
I’m having a destination wedding four hours from our home in the next state over. I sent Save-The-Date Cards in February. My final count is due 9/26 for my 10/11 wedding. My plan right now is to send my invites out on 8/1 with an RSVP date of 9/19. I thought that would be early enough but reading some of these boards I’m now getting nervous that I may need to send them out earlier. When are y’all sending your invites out?

I’m sending our invites our August 28th [right before Labor Day Weekend], with rsvps due on September 30th.

I’m sending mine out second week of July for my October 5th wedding, with an RSVP date of August 26th.
The only reason why we are sending them out so early is because in our culture we don’t send out Save-The-Date Cards so we tend to send out the invites a little earlier.
Also because we have 520 guests, so we need time to get eveything set up and tables and seating charts and oh please god help me.
I read somewhere on here to send them out 6 weeks prior to the event.
Yay October weddings rule!!!!!!!!!

vmason009: Hey date twin! I am *Considering* sending mine out about the same time i was thinking around august 9th ish…with rsvps due 1 month before the date….sept 13th is the date i picked…my final count is due sept 27th….so i figure that i have like 2 weeks to chase down non responders! instead of having them due so close to my final count date giving me some breathing room…I do have a final rsvp date on our rsvp cards as the 13th of sept. just debating to see when we actually send the invites out!

vmason009: You’re my date twin! We’re not having a Destination Wedding, but we have a lot of guests coming from out of town. I sent out Save-The-Date Cards last month and I’m planning to send out my invites on the same day as you. My venue doesn’t need a final head count until 10/6 and my RSVP date is 9/15, which gives me 3 weeks to receive late RSVPs and to track down phone numbers in case I need to call some guests.
I don’t think you need to send them out earlier since 8/1 is 10 weeks before the date. That should be an ample amount of time, although if you’re still concerned about it, you could send it out 12 weeks before. I wouldn’t send them out earlier than that though.

My date is October 17, and I am planning on sending out my invitations the first week in August. I didn’t do STD’s, but may still send out a Paperless Post email to some friends who haven’t asked about the wedding and will need some time to plan.
I think invitations are normally mailed 2 months in advance, so with no notices going out (STDs), you can give that an extra couple of weeks. I’ll proabably have them returned by the last week in September.

I sent out my save the dates in the middle of March for our October 11 wedding.
However, I keep getting so many questions about the wedding invitations and how come they haven’t been sent yet!! I find some people are so weird about the timing and it seems like so many brides are sending out their invitations super early!!

QueenMarie: agreed! I read one person was sending her invites in June and started to question myself! I’m feeling much better about my timeline now!
October will be here before we know it!

our date is october 12. our invitations will go out in early july, and our RSVP date is september 1. 90% of our guests are from out of town/out of state, which is why they’re going out so early.

Our date is October 3rd. I plan on mailing our invites out August 8th with a RSVP deadline of September 5th. Our final count is due to the venue September 19th so i’m hoping this deadline buys me a little time to chase anyone down for a confirmation if need be but still not pushing it so close that it becomes stressful!

Our date is October 25th. We sent out our STD’s in January, and I’m thinking for invites I’ll send them out in August 25th, with a reply date of Sept 22nd. That should give me about a month for final numbers and seating plan planning.

colorofmyheart: Hey, date twin! 140 days to go!
I am thinking I want our invites to have an RSVP date of Sept 12th (4 weeks before wedding) since the wedding is 3,000 miles from where we live and there’s a little more prep than normal. So, I am going to send my invites out in mid August!

I am sending mine early August. Our date is October 30th. We are sending Save the dates Tuesday. Our wedding is a flight for everyone so I want a healthy reminder early august for last ditch travel.

colorofmyheart: Our date is the day before yours and I think we’re going with the same schedule–early July mailing, RSVP Sept 1. My fiance wants the RSVP to be earlier, but that seems way in advance to me.
