I’m getting married in october this year (26th) and haven’t got my dress yet, i have been looking once and found some dresses I “liked” but didn’t love. I plan on going shopping 20th April to find my dress (we live rural and this is the only time I can get there).
I am getting a little nervous as a few places I have called have said I need to order my dress NOW and that even then I might be leaving it too late.
I am happy to buy off the rack however I am a plus size and it’s a little harder.
Have I left it too late? Is anyone else in this situation?
I am in Australia, don’t know if that makes a difference 🙂

@Allyw1980: I’m getting married in October too and only just started looking at dresses 3 weeks ago, I thought I had heaps of time but apparently not! You are cutting it a bit fine and you might find some places need a good 6 months to order dresses, but there are still plenty of options if you don’t leave it too much longer. Most places I went could do 5 months comfortably, the stores that made them to order seemed to have the most flexibilty. Even some of the stores that need 6 months to order may have unallocated stock in store or on order.

@Allyw1980: Hi Ally, I hope I’m not too late! You didn’t mention where you are but maybe try these Aussie websites:
http://www.weddingdressexpress.com.au – This place is located in Brisbane and they have ready made dresses, as well as a tailor service. They do bridesmaids dresses too and they have a facebook site so you can see how close their creations are to the pics that brides-to-be provide them. You can pretty much give them pics of multiple dresses that you like and have something made to your exact specs; maybe give them a go.
http://www.aussiebridal.com.au – I think this place is also in Brisbane? Not sure but definitely QLD. I’m getting my dress from here 🙂
