45 mins of aerobics. But I think my wiifit is way off on the scale. It weighed me at least 5 lbs light

Oh.. looks like it isn’t good to have it on a rug or anything. On hardwood floor it was more accurate. Damn.

Yep! Only three months two days left for me. I am doing weight watchers and a mixture of the insanity and jillian michaels body revolution workouts. I would love to lose 5 pounds, but can see a bit of a difference in how toned my arms look so far.

I also bike to work and walk my dogs daily. Hoepfully I can get in shape in time!

Love this thread!! Great idea!!!

Coincidentally, I decided earlieer today that I am going to start working out tomorrow! Talk about great timing with all of you providing motivation!! I’ll definitely provide check-ins with you all! :o)

I’m not looking to lose a certain number of pounds. Thankfully, I’m pretty slim. I do, however, want to lose an inch or more on my hips… they are pretty wide set and fleshy, and though I like that my mermaid dress shows off the curves, maaaaybe there’s a few too many curves to show off right now, haha.

How the heck does one lose hip weight/tone hips, though? I’m clueless!!! Some advice would be STELLAR!

I also need to tone up my abs a little (damn my decision to get a tight-fitting dress; a little bit of bloating and there it all is for the world to see) and my arms — that underam giggle crap kills me.

Gotta dust off those weights!!

Does anybody else hit a mental brick wall with a sign hanging on it that says “food is going to ruin any exercise efforts u make”?  How do u power through the roadblocks?

Im really trying to ignore the fact that I need to only eat grass along with exercising. Its hard enough to make myself get moving knowing I won’t see a lb drop off for two weeks prob.

@BeeG35:  First off, date twins!

Second, try eating some lean meats with your veggies! It seriously makes the biggest difference, it will steady your metabolism and give you more solid food, plus post work out for you to feel more energized, you need the protein! So chicken/fish/turkey, try those :]

My weightloss tips so far for those who want them!(And a before/mid-progress pic for fun!)

Load up on protein. Bring in boiled eggs, salmon, chicken, turkey and some dairy.

Make smoothies with fruit, fat free yogurt and milk, throw in some protein powder pre/post-workout for a boost.

Throw out pasta! Have cous cous instead πŸ™‚

Replace chocolate with chocolate milk instead if you really need a sweet option.

Focus on strength building. Lift weights and work on your muscles.

Run for long distances instead of sprinting if you want leaner legs. if you want to shape up your legs (build muscles) sprint on a high gradient instead. I have huuuuge calves so it’s the long distance running for me ^^

Here is my before/progress photos. Hope I’ve helped someone!

I’ve been actively trying to lose weight for my wedding since August 2012.  So far I’m down 52 lbs., and am 3.7 lbs. away from my wedding weight goal.  I still have a way to go until my goal weight (another 55 lbs. from my wedding weight), but I’m just proud of myself for how far I’ve come already.

I completed the Couch 2 5k program in May and ran my first 5k in June.  I’m still running 3 days a week, tracking my food intake on MyFitnessPal, and do weight training a few days a week.

Wow looks like a lot of you have made some awesome progress, congrats! I just started as well a few weeks ago. I’ve never had an issue with weight gain, but I was on some meds that made me gain about 10 lbs a couple months back. Once I stopped them I didn’t go back to my usual weight, so earlier this month I finally realized I’m going to have to work at it haha.

I only had about 7 lbs to lose, but I’m more focused on body fat % and inches overall and just toning up. I’m 5’5″, Started out 117, today 111.5, goal is 110 lbs by the time I start my dress alterations on Friday next week πŸ™‚ As far as body fat, I started out at 19% and now I’m at 17.5%. I don’t think I will reach my 16% goal but we will see, I was at 16% before starting the meds. After the 26th of this month I’m just gonna try to maintain so that I don’t have to worry about my dress being too loose.

I go to the gym, try to go 4 times a week, but usually only make it 2-3 days a week. I do mostly weights but like to throw in stairmaster cardio whenever I have time. From my experience weight loss/fat loss is more highly impacted by diet. It’s important not to overeat or eat too late in the day, and especially avoid a lot of processed foods high in fat and sugar. I kind of follow the weight watchers points plus system with an app called ‘iTrackBites’ and it works fantastic for me. It makes me eat things that are healthier because food high in fat, or high in carbs that lack fiber, really add up fast in points, or as the app calls them ‘bites’. Also, most fruits and vegetables are considered ‘free’ in terms of points plus/bites, so it encourages me to eat more of them.

I also am currently doing intermittent fasting, which means eating all my calories within a 7 hour window during the day and fasting the rest of the time, with the exception of my morning coffee LOL. I’ve noticed much more fat loss/muscle definition. I still get enough calories, I just give my body more time without food to rest and repair. I also make sure I only work out when I can eat afterward. It’s not for everyone, but works well for me when I’m trying to lose that last little bit of belly fat. Definitely not something for the long term once my goal is reached. My fiance has 25 lbs he would like to lose by the wedding, and the intermittment fasting has the weight just flying off of him at this point πŸ˜‰

Sorry for the long post! Just wanted to share in case any of this can help you ladies reach your goal πŸ™‚

@kittylove13:  Wow, that’s really interesting! I might try the intermittent fasting thing too. I kind of do it naturally anyway with lie ins/early bed (love summer) but will make an effort to stick to it. I have a holiday in two weeks so that’s helping me to stay on track, hopefully this will help πŸ™‚
