@Minnow:  Haha, today I pulled my shirt up and tensed to show my abs. My mum was watching so I looked at her and said ‘jealous?’. She sort of awkwardly laughed and brushed it off. I think she is πŸ˜‰ As for my Fiance, I think he’s just worried that I’ll take it too far, but there’s no chance of that happening. As soon as I’m in that wedding dress I will be having ALL of the cake and brownies and chocolate…

I’m not trying to lose lbs but inches instead- I am one of those who becomes scale obsessed to the point of it not being healthy.

HOWEVER I am super excited because I ordered my dress 2 inches smaller in the waist hoping and KNOWING that I would continue to lose weight. I placed the order on June 12 for 27″ waist, 42″ hip. At that time I was 29″ waist and 43″ hip.

This morning I re-measured myself… 27.5″ waist and 42″ hip on the dot! And I’ve only been dieting for 3 weeks (after a 10 day long family vacation, a previously planned HUGE 4th of july party, etc), and I still have 10 left to go! WHAT A RELIEF! Fiance was gone for 13 the last days of that 3 weeks and the first thing he said when he got home is “whoa you’ve lost a ton of weight, your face looks so thin!”

Gonna keep doing what I’m doing… 100% atkins, 30 day shred 3x a week, 1.5hours of yoga on Sundays with Fiance and one-two 45min spin classes.  Thank GOD I’m seeing results, and I’ve even got him onboard for the Atkins/Paleo thing. GO TEAM WHOLE EGGS, CHEESE AND SPINACH! πŸ™‚

I haven’t lost a lot of weight – 15 lbs from February, and I’ve been trying.  I was really stressed out due to work for the past few months and that didn’t help, but now that I’ve changed positions the stress levels should go way down.  I’ve been stuck at 180 for the past little while and have really been kicking things into gear.  Off of bread/grains again, but not omitting dairy like I did earlier this year.  My initial goal is 175 lbs, if I make that I’ll bump the goal down again, and again, and again.  My ultimate goal is to fit into my dress – that’s all that matters at this point.

In May I signed up for a kettlebell class that did a fitness evaluation before hand.  I was mortified when the guy said I weighed 147lbs and I had 41% body fat.  (I’m 5’3″ and that is the largest I have ever been).  I freaked out and immediately cut out all dairy, most gluten, and alcohol from my diet and began running.  I did all of my body measurements and took a before pic for inspiration.

Fast forward 2 1/2 months:  I have now logged over 90 miles and have lost 2″ around all of my important parts (i.e waist, thighs, hips).  The best part was trying on my wedding dress, which I purchased in January at a size 10, and having it be so large that it wouldn’t even stay up!!  I bought a Groupon for a CrossFit class which I plan on doing the month of September just to tone up.  In the meantime, I will continue running and trying to keep my diet on track (but still eating the foods I like so that I don’t binge).

My goal weight is to be back where I was in high school at around 127 lbs.  I’m fairly muscular and I know that weight can be extremely deceiving.  Basically, if I can fit into a size 4 comfortably than my work is done.

I just had a HUGE wakeup call today.  I went to pick up my dress from the store, because I have my first alterations appointment tomorrow morning (add bustle, make neckline a sweetheart, and make the mermaid structure a little more mermaid-y).  I tried it on at the store to determine which krinalin (sp?) I wanted to use for the dress structure…. and I’ve gained a little weight and now my dress doesn’t FIT!!!! It does not zip up all the way!  It’s a sample off the rack, and when I first bought it (back in April 2012), it fit like a glove.

Cry

Time to get my ass in gear pronto!!!

Hi all- I’m new to the thread. My wedding is Oct 4th. I started dieting in January as a new years resolution. Since then, I have lost 32 pounds. I hope to lose at least another 8 pounds in 8 weeks, but 16 pounds is what I’m shooting for. I’ve noticed my motivation waning- where I was working out 5-6 days, now its more like 3 days. It’s time to get my butt into gear! Only 2 months ladies!

I just got back from my holidays last night. I’ll be honest, it was a no holds barred fest of cheese, chocolate, ice cream, pizza and pasta. Before I left I weighed in at 110lbs! I was so pleased but pretty certain I’d gain half a stone during the trip. Weigh in today reveals I’m at 112.6lbs, which is totally fine πŸ™‚ Aim for next week? It will take me a while to get back in the groove. Maybe 110-111lbs.

@HeyKaraoke:  Wow, date twins AND panic-weight-loss-for-the-dress twins!!!

My second fitting is scheduled for Sept. 14th, so I have until then to tighten up.  What about you?

@FutureMrsLAL: You’ve got a month, you can definitely make significant changes by then πŸ™‚ My first fitting was scheduled for the 20th of this month, but I realized I double-booked it with a doctor’s appointment that I can’t skip, so I left a message with my alterationist asking to push it back to the 27th. Hopefully that works out for her, and at least it gives me 17 more days to get my butt in gear.
