@s2bmrscook:  I’m going through this as well. People said they’re not coming because they don’t want to take off work on Monday. Ummmm…don’t get stupid drunk! Then my FI’s parents said their family who live out of state won’t bother making the trip down because its a Sunday. People are dumb. We chose Sunday because we got a 25% discount.

@s2bmrscook:  I am getting married on a Sunday too.  I figure that if it is important enough for them to attend they can just take off Monday.  I chose Sunday because everything is less expensive and not completely booked.  But I know what you are saying.  What difference does it make what day it is?

I would totally get married on a Sunday! actually I intend to! For a whole bunch of great reasons; more availability of venues, everything is cheaper, you have the Saturday to prepare with close family and the bridal party etc etc.

My parents got married on a Sunday and my SO was best man for our close friends wedding which was also a Sunday – on neither occassion did it strike me as odd nor did I hear anyone mention anything about it! The fact that it was a ‘work night’ also didn’t affect things and no one left early. Close friends and family were happy to take the following day off for the traditional ‘brunch/lunch’ as well.

Just do it! It’s your day! Ignore those silly comments 🙂

One of my friends got married on Sunday and no one drank and we all left early becasue we all had to be at work bright and early, and you know what, the party really sucked.  So that is probably why.  But hope yours will be better.

I’ll be getting married on a weekday. We want to get married on our dating anniversary. I know some people may not like it, but that day is imporant to us. Those who matter will come

People just don’t realize what it’s like to plan a wedding. Try to ignore them.

@s2bmrscook:  We’re having a Sunday wedding too. Didn’t really matter for us since its a Destination Wedding and people are taking off anyway.

I like the idea of Sunday and Friday weddings, though. You can save money, mostly because Saturdays are overpriced because they’re so popular. I think it seems like a perfectly normal day to get married.

All I can say is… people are weird. =P

@s2bmrscook:  Hmm.. given that attitude I get the feeling the party sucked for other reasons than the day it was held on.

I’m glad I have wonderful family and friends who would be more than happy to not think of themselves for at least one day and celebrate our special moment no matter what day of the week it is!

Don’t worry s2bmrscook i’m sure your family and friends will be happy to celebrate your moment too!
