In places like the Gap where there is a lot of track lighting…or just lights in every which direction! I always find that in stores in the mall, they look fantastic b/c light is shining at them from every angle.

Then and also when I’m driving LOL…I can’t tell you how many times when I first got engaged that I almost got into an accident staring at my ring :o)

In my basement we have recessed can lighting, haha, it’s great! Or when I get out of the hot tub, the spotlight outside under our deck, after a nice chlorine bath, the ring sparkles like no other!

@7SEVENJ9:

Chlorine?  Are you not terrified it will be bad for it? Do you have Rhodium plating?

When I’m back at the jewelers (they have the best light), and when I’m on the can.  For some reason, I have time to stare at it, and the soft bathroom lighting makes it look all romantical…strange, but true…most of the pics I’ve posted on the bee was from the bathroom, lol!!

In my car on the drive home from work. The sun is always at just the right angle to really bring out of the vibrant green of my stones.

No pics of this, obviously, because I don’t want to cause a car crash doing an impromptu ring shoot while driving. That’d be embarrassing to explain to the insurance company…

@oneeleven – I do have rhodium plating, and asked the jeweler if chlorine would be bad for the ring – they assured me it’d be fine, we don’t put a WHOLE lot in our hot tub anyway, but I also get my ring dipped at least once a year! I’m sure the chlorine contributes to the yellowing, but at least it’s fixable – and I don’t like to take the ring off!

@MissNoodles: it was, his grandmother always used to tell me a story about how she lost the diamont out of her engagement ring, and Fiance grandpa would not replace it ( he said one was enough :() anyways when we got engaged she  would always comment on my ring,  then the day before she passed Future Mother-In-Law noticed it under the lights.

My friend and I used to sit in class and admire our sparkly rings – big lecture halls just made them shine in the best way – also a fun way to zone out during a boring lecture!

@PurpleQueenieT: LOL…on the can! I do have to say though that when I’m brushing my teeth in the bathroom, if I haven’t taken off my rings yet, they sure do sparkle in there too! I think it has to do with the tons of lights we have over our sinks.

Hockey games!  DH loves going to hockey games, and something about that flourescent rink lighting makes my sapphire look so bright and blue and it sparkles like crazy.  (Typically it looks more a richer, darker blue).  This pic wasn’t at a hockey game, but the color is the closest to what I can get at home!

I always notice mine in the elevator in my building. And in the car on a sunny day…
