So bees, tell me… Have I lost my mind??
We are sending our 3 yr old yorkie to doggy daycare! Her first day will be on Tuesday… We feel that it would be good for her to be around other dogs who can just play and have fun.
we have a 7 month old yorkie girl who we plan to send too, but we wanna see how molly does first…
Does any other bee use doggy daycare?

Doggie daycare is great! I dont send mine because they arent well behaved enough, but I know tons of people that do and they talk about how great it is. I also know a couple of people that work at them.

@graygodess20: Just be sure you’ve checked it out and are happy with the type and level of care they receive. Do they have a doggie cam so you can remote in and see what’s happening at any time? Do they separate sizes, activity levels so the bouncing off the walls dogs aren’t running over the mellow just wandering around watching the action dogs? How many people to how many dogs? etc.
As long as it’s in the budget it’s a great idea. Well socialized, happy tired (non-destructive) doggies at the end of the day. Mine starts winding up with the happy whiny are we there yet behavior about 4 blocks before we get to the parking lot, and pulls me into the lobby.

DH was away for business all last week. I sent ours on Thursday because he had such separation anxiety when I got home for work. He did really well and loves it. We plan on sending him to boarding with daycare when we go on vacation. We could have friends watch him but I would rather have him have so much fun when we are away that he forgets about us for a few days.

@fascinated: yes!!! They have different sized groups, along with cameras so we can check in!! What I’m über excited about is that this place gives you the option when boarding, that they can stay in the typical “kennel” or on the floor where there are actual people who sleep with them!!
im so excited! Haha

Not crazy at all!
We used to send our border collie when we both had to work the same shift ( we were both doing 12plus hour shifts) He loved it and came home exhausted!
We moved to a new city and I changed jobs so we havent needed to send him yet. However later today im taking him to check out a Pet retreat – he’ll be staying there for 9 or 10 days starting next saturday while we’re getting married in Mexico!

@graygodess20: I love the concept of sleeping out and about with a person around! Sounds like a great place.

I used to send my dog when he was younger! When he was about a year old he started chewing up everything. The vet said he was too old for teething and was probalby just bored. I had started working more hours and he was home alone more than normal, so I found a great doggy daycare and he started going once a week. That was all it took. One day a week tired him out and he went back to being my well behaved baby. He loved it 🙂
