What are some of your favorite blogs to read to knock you back into sense?
Whenever I feel like the wedding industry machine trying to suck me in, I go read Sara’s blog at 2000dollarwedding.com and I feel better about our choice to go DIY and small and non traditional. Reading her blog confirms to me that we can have a wedding that is us and not Brides magazine.
Sometimes it’s just hard and the small part of me that hasn’t converted and cares about what other people think of me says that I need to go out and get a long white dress and have favors, DJ’s, expensive food, ect.
I just had a moment while writing a new blog entry about my choices and I just needed that smack in the face. Do you have a favorite website or blog that you read to put you back on your path if you get off of it?

The Intimate Weddings blog (www.intimateweddings.com) snaps me back sometimes. It reminds me that our wedding will be wonderful even without more guests and all the dancing/traditions (those aren’t really our personality anyway). I will add that I do still have some traditional elements though like a long ivory dress.

A Practical Wedding. I think I love Meg. I unfortunately have bitten the WIC bug but she does put me back on track. I love reading the Wedding Graduates however, I know that my wedding is going to be BIG and LOUD and EXPENSIVE but I don’t mind. I am very very very frugal however, I am VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY lazy and impatient So no, no DIY for me.
