You don’t have to get up that early!  I just need my tea & dawdle time as well as training time for the new puppy when he gets here.  It’ll be cool enough.

I’ve worn my fitbit zip everyday – with the exception of a handful of days I forgot to put it back on after taking a shower – for the past 1 1/2 years. I managed to lose around 60 lbs tracking my activity level and using the fitbit app to track my calorie intake while working a 40 hour / week, Mon to Fri desk job. I make sure to do at least 150 minutes of exercise a week. I’ve gotten my SO to go walking with me one or two days a week after dinner, and I do short 5 to 15 minute exercise routines once or twice a week while I’m watching TV at night. Most of my exercise, though, happens on the weekends, in the morning, when I actually have the time and energy to do 50 to 70 min exercise sessions – usually I work out on an elliptical machine that my Mom has at her house. Definitely eat before those longer workouts, and have a protein rich snack afterwards!

ajillity81:  I’m with you! Hubby and I both have desk jobs, but we hike/trail-run with our dogs, take them for nightly walks, and I swim/bike/run as well. I also do yoga and spin classes whenever I can.

MrsNewDay:  I’ve found that not thinking about it works for me. I get home, immediately change into workout clothes, grab the dogs, and hit the trails/hills. If I putter around, chat with neighbors, turn on the TV, etc. it makes it that much harder to actually leave the house. Good luck!

MrsNewDay:  Okay, so I’m not in shape yet. But we just bought an xbox 360 kinect with a dancing game and MAN that is definitely a cardio workout. And it helps that’s it’s fun and something I enjoy doing. So I’m planning to play that regularly. I hope to see some improvement. But I’m definitely not a morning person and I like to spend my evenings with Darling Husband, so we’ve been doing this together after work.

When I had a long commute, I’d walk during lunch and hit the weights before I hopped on the train home. If i had a particularly hectic work week, I’d work out over the weekend.  No excuses, you just gotta do it!
