well it looks amazing in the last pic so like you said there is no need for them!!! You made a fabulous choice in just having that dress altered. It looks amazing.

I think you’ve made a big mistake. Think of the scenes when your Fiance sees you in this dress at the ceremony? He’ll probably start molesting you on the spot – how could he resist? There’ll be like a stampede, the priest will probably faint and it’s probably just best to call the police ahead of time. I mean, a dress that smoking hot should have some kind of a law against it!
But seriously. You look amazing and I’m so glad you’ve finally got it looking the way you want it to.

Haha! I agree she’s smoking hot:)

Beautiful ! You have an AMAZING seamstress, your going to want to keep her in your contacts lol!!! I tried that dress on myself and had the same feeling LOVED the fabric and feel of the gown, but I wanted it to be much more mermaid like. If you dont mind me asking, how much did you end up spending on alterations? And did you have the buttons added? Congrats on the PERFECT Jessie!!

Wow, I can’t agree with that one but thank you for the HUGE compliment!!
Haha you are too funny! When I read the first line of your comment, I was like WTF?? You freaked me out there for a second!!
Thank you so much!! So….I ended up spending over $1k on the alterations and yes I know that is WAY overpriced. My salon is in an area where everything is overpriced anyways (Orange County, So Cal). The regular alterations there start at $500 and they totally charge more than if you were to go to an independent seamstress. They told me $800 for the shape change, $200 for the lowered neckline/removing of boning on the chest area, rounding out cups, and adding pads, then another $200 for the lowered back…and the rest of it they just “included” which was the hem, bustle, cutting of the corset, sewing on the sash and buttons, taking it in and then back out at the waist a few times, etc. I did pay extra for the buttons though. They were special ordered from Augusta Jones and I think they were like $1.50 each (it was about $125 for the buttons). I spent everything I had for the dress but in the end it was worth it to me….but I know it was totally ridiculous.

So gorgeous- it’s absolutely perfect!! The alterations cost a lot, but totally worth it:)

LOL! I also thought you were telling her the dress was better without all the alterations before I read your second line!!
That is a great dress, and it looks like it was worth all the dress regret and drama it took to get to where it is now! Congrats, it’s beautiful!

The transformation is amazing it looks like a completely different dress! So glad it worked out for you. Makes me feel a lot more confident that when my dress comes in if it isn’t exactly what I want I can have it made to be my dream dress. Thank you so much for sharing your story I’m sure it will help out lots of other bees 🙂 x
