hi bees! Newbee here!
My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 15 months. We moved in very quickly, and have been living together for a year this Christmas. He has been talking kids and me being the person he wants to spend his life with since about month 6.
Last weekend we looked at rings! We went around to 4 different stores looking at styles, carat weights, warrant options, price points, etc. He’s never even looked at jewelry at all so he needed a lot of knowledge. He feels fairly confident about what I like now and what he wants to do.
The timeline is “2019” lol! So any point in the next 25 days to 388 days *eye roll* I jokingly said “okkkkk so new year’s of 2019?” And he said no definitely not that late. His ideal timeline is married before we buy a house- so engaged in 2019 so we can get a house in 2020.
It is very hard for me waiting now that I’ve seen the kind of ring porn around this site and seeing what he might get me in person! I’m too impatient 🙂
can’t wait to get to talk to everyone more!

Update: he purchased a ring yesterday! I know it is being sized and he knows my ring size since we have already looked at rings, so I am not sure when it will physically be in his hands. Hopefully the waiting will be sooner rather than later! I told him not to plan anything crazy since I’m a simple person who wants to hopefully keep the proposal low key, but he still is keeping me out of the loop of the rest of the process lol

ak2024 : I just recently went through this and can understand the mix of excitement, anxiety, and impatience 😀 My SO made me pick my own ring knowing I have very specific preferences and he wanted me to 100% love it as I would be wearing it every single day but post-proposal, I feel like I would have been happy with ANY ring and ANY type of proposal lol and I guess that’s how it is for most people so don’t worry about that part too much. My biggest concern was how to react when it happens as it wouldn’t be a complete suprise for me but he somehow managed to do that as well!
Waiting to hear about your upcoming proposal!
