Look into your state’s laws about officiants.  We’re getting married in MA and they have a special form you can fill out to have a family member or friend officiate, so that’s what we’re doing.  You could also ask your venue; ours has a list of officiants.

Go to a site like Wedplan, Onewed or WeddingWire. You enter your information and the officiants that are interested and available will email you. Then you can look at their websites and read their reviews. I think it would be your best option. Best of luck.

What about Mayors.. I know where I live mayors are officiants, and FREE. From what I understand, it’s part of their civil duty & they can’t ask for payment. I just contacted the mayor from the city I grew up in, and looks like he’s going to marry us.. Something to think about.
