I’m having a secular ceremony in May, in which a close friend’s husband is officiating our ceremony. We haven’t discussed money or any kind of payment with him as of yet. I don’t think he expects anything for performing the ceremony, but he is also somewhat serving as a groomsmen. He is renting a tux like the other groomsmen, but just wearing a different tie that me and my FH purchased for him. My question is this: should we offer to reimburse him for his tuxedo rental or offer some payment as a gesture of our appreciation. Or should we just include him (which we plan to do anyways) in the gifts we give to our groomsmen and ushers? What are your thoughts? Thanks!
