My dad married us, and it was perfect! The transition wasn’t awkward at all – it was quite beautiful, actually. He walked me down the aisle, then he placed our hands together and turned around and said to everyone, “Just want to let you know that I willing give Miss P to Mr. P to be married.” And then he went right up front and married us! I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect ceremony and officiant for us. 🙂

It sounds like it will be easy since he’ll already be walking you down the aisle and then he’ll be up there and good to go!  I like the idea of him joining your hands with your FIs first and then walking around you to get started.  How special to have your dad officiate!

@Bjack28: Not at all! If anything, having my dad officiate made our ceremony all that more meaningful. He also managed to hold it together pretty well – he saved his tears for his speech at the reception!

@Bjack28:  Congratulations, I think you are a very lucky lady. My daughter is young but has already told me that she wants her father and I to walk her down the aisle together and then for me to officiate her ceremony. We will see if that comes true or not, as I said she is still young.

I think the transition will be smooth and the personal nature for the act of officiating you ceremony will be forever remembered and cherished.
