Yes I think $750 is too high. My friend became an officiant, and she will marry anyone for free.
Her daughter & son-in-law were refused to be married in a courthouse, because they stopped doing any marriages in protest of gay marriage. They were 2 young people in the military, and my friend was incensed on both counts.

I think this absolutely depends on the area you live in. I got two quotes for officiants around $700 CAN, but in the end found one (who was incredible) for $300.

We were quote $200. Unless they are also providing the venue that’s way too high

That’s really high. Our minister, who came through for us literally at the last minute when the officiant we booked bailed the night before, didn’t charge us anything. Our previous officiant had quoted us at $100, so we made a $100 donation to the minister’s church when he married us.

Ours was 200-300 (don’t remember exactly) and our ceremony was completely customized and it was fantastic. I would shop around because it does seem rather high but it probably depends on the area you are in too.

Ours was free, and personal, since a friend was our officiant. Anyone can get a certificate online. In Colorado, you don’t even need an officiant; you can self-solemnize.
