Hello, my fellow bees from Ontario!
Right now my Fiance and I are just researching (not totally actively planning) and we have a little hiccup in our plans. Are any of you familiar with Reform rabbis or ordained cantors who are willing to allow non-Jewish, cultural (no religious meaning behind them) elements into a Jewish wedding outside of shul. I’m currently in the process of converting, so although we will both be Jewish, my family is not, and I already know there are elements of a Jewish wedding where my parents cannot be involved, so I wanted to add some of my Celtic heritage into it so that they can feel included, and so that I can truly express all my background. We have already talked to the rabbi at our own synagogue, who said they will only do traditional Jewish weddings.
I understand that not all Jewish brides will agree with having non-Jewish elements incorporated, and I’m not looking to start any fights, just looking for some help.
If you know of any, that would be appreciated!
