Hey slm

I looked at having a wedding in the Bahamas and found it a little taxing, even though I love the Bahamas. But the ease of finding a wedding officiant really depends on what island you are staying on and what resort/hotel you are staying at. There are 15 islands that make up the Bahamas with the main islands being Nassau and Grand Bahama. Nassau is the cheapest to fly into and is really the highway to get every where else in the Bahamas. So when island jumping this is the best place to set up base. It also has so many awesome activities. As far as finding an officiant…it would probably be easier to determine what island you would be staying on  and where you will be staying when you get married. The resorts very often have officiants they can recommend. A lot of places offer wedding packages, like Sandals Royal Bahamian. However, if you just want to hire the officiant out right they may charge a fee. I was thinking about getting married at Cape Santa Maria on Long Island and the officiant fee was $300 but it will vary.

Also here is a phone number you can call for wedding services in the Bahamas. I got it off http://www.bahamas.com 1-888-687-8425. I bet they can help you.

Here is a web-site with a list of requirements for your marrige application: http://www.bahamas.com/bahamas/license-requirements

If you need any more help just message me. I’ve been doing a lot of research and finally found the perfect place for my fiance and I to get married on June 5, 2010. I would be happy to share my information
