Hi. So I was wondering does anyone know of a Catholic priest who would be willing to officiate a non-catholic wedding?
I am Baptist by my fiance is Catholic – not a practicing one but his parents are. We are not getting married in a church and I want to make my new in-laws happy so I was trying to see if I could find a priest to marry us. Any ideas? Please help! Thanks

The only group of priests I’ve heard willing to do this are the Jesuits. Do you know anyone who went to Fordham? That’s the closest Jesuit school to NYC that would probably be your best bet.
But beware, the majority of Catholic priests will absolutely not do this. If your in-laws have a close relationship with a particular priest maybe he would be willing to do a Catholic blessing instead of a the entire ceremony?

As far as I know, in the world of Catholicism, a marriage is not considered a marriage unless it is in the Catholic church. Therefore, I doubt any priests would do this. If you find out they do, let me know because I would love to have them officiate my wedding too!!! 🙂

St. Igantius Loyola is a jesuit run church and school on 83rd and park avenue. I do not know what their policies are. Good luck!
